How to cancel a purchase?

The seller and I have agreed to cancel a sale, no money has been paid. As the buyer, can I / should I inform Trademe and if so, how? Is it even necessary to inform Trademe that a sale was cancelled?

You are fine, your Seller will make contact with TradeMe to claim their success fee paid back - as this is a mutual agreement to cancel I wouldn't expect to hear from TradeMe though if you do just confirm the mutual agreement. - Cheers.

The sale never went through and both the seller and myself, the buyer had both agreed the sale was not successful

Gary-NZStocked Community SuperuserNothing more for you to do Eugene. If you and the seller have agreed not to complete the sale/purchase, that's the end of it. Depending on the circumstances the seller may be able to apply to Trademe for their success fees to be refunded and you if haven't paid any money, then all's done. Sounds like you have communication with the seller so that's good.
