Forced to use Ping for TM to take a cut. And if you write in the main body of the listing to pay via Internet banking & not ping, will you be turfed ?
So as a casual seller, you list an item for $1 reserve and it sells for $1. Buyer pays by ping, pays no service fee, but seller pays commission? Will it mean the end of $1 reserve auctions?
Just clarifying, bc I didn't see it specifically mentioned in TM's notice yesterday, is the shipping fee part of the commission (success fee), or service fee or *"both** for casual sellers? I thought the total fee adding shipping in with the sale price for was for in-trade sellers only.
"improved" - oh that's just great. I have had watchers who are just tyre kickers. I have offered these watchers and been igrnored. Dropped the price and been ignored, yet still they watch.
thank you, I couldn't find the chat function in desktop mode it using my ph, but managed to following the link you posted, using my tablet.
thank you Callum; most appreciated.
Big thanks to whoever posted the webinar link. Most interesting. I'm a casual seller & for me the webinar prompted more questions and frustrations for TM. Re introducing shipping templates: it seems that they have attempted to fix a problem that wasn't there. They have said buyers are a) lacking in common sense b) so time poor that that can't click thru to see whether an item is pick up only, or $, free, or to be determined. Despite whatever research they have to validate their claims, they're not giving buyers any credit. Additionally, shipping issues from o/s & around NZ have been in m...
I'm a casual seller, and I use NZ Post bags. I bought more bags of different sizes and economy tickets yesterday and asked if the prices for their tickets have increased because of the fuel issue - was told "no, not yet". That said, unless you have a contract with NZP where they can implement their variable prices rates (see link below), I can't see how they can hike the price of their economy / courier tickets for one-off purchases, or even books of 10 online before their annual increase. Will be watching with interest.https://www.nzpost.co.nz/about-us/who-we-are/terms-of-business/variabl...
Maybe it's because TM is officially an "adult" at 25 yrs old? Maybe TM's management has read the room, and realised if they go out "celebrating" their b'day they will get some backlash.
Thanks to those who have been answering my q. One more q from me. What's to stop a casual trader from not including shipping costs in a listing, and instead, in the body of the listing, quoting shipping prices. Ie $X nationwide (no RD); $Y nationwide RD. There is a reason I am asking this.
