updating shipping template for new NZ Post bags & prices
AnsweredUntil now, I've avoided updating my shipping templates to reflect the new NZ Post pre-paid bag shipping options.
But needs must & I need some advice from seasoned professionals, pls.
I managed to make the shipping template work with bags prior to the price increase, but not so now.
The shipping template in MP doesn't reflect NZ Post's service options for pre-paid bags, ie Courier and Economy. There's no option to show "courier" from the drop down menu in the "product" column.
The best I can do is below - to send an item in what is now a small bag (prev size 2) it's either $9 Courier to the door, or $7 to the letterbox. Then to send to an RD address, it's an extra $5.50 - I've added this to the $7 letterbox service.
Q1: is the example below ok or is there another way of doing it? Any fishhooks with this example?
Q2: Does NZ Post charge have an extra fee for delivering an RD item to the recipient's door? Ie $9 Courier + $5.50?
Q3: I have some pre-paid bags bought before the price hike. The face value of the bag is $6.40 with tracking included. Other than a $5.50 RD fee now, are there any other fees?
I've been using the pre-paid bags because you and the buyer know what the shipping price is.
I don't use BAC (or any other service) because I've been reading about the various glitches people have experienced with it & I simply don't have time to use it then find out the site's down/the price has changed/the courier won't pick up - etc.
I'll save my comments about shipping prices v the price of an item for another time.
Thanks in advance.

Q1 That all looks OK to me. Don't forget that the buyer sees an extra day added to those. So if you are committed to sending daily you could use the 0-1 day express option for your $9 courier one. (Buyer will see it as 1-2 days)
Q2 No additional fees for RD "to the door" if I understand you correctly. To an RD address you pay the same fee whether you are sending via courier or economy.
Q3 You can generally always use old NZpost product as it's originally intended without paying any more. It's why I spent $6,000 on product before the last price hike :)
