The potential buyer is not supposed to put their phone number there. You can ask TradeMe to remove it. Community Watch your auction and find the subject that says contact details are being shared in the Q&A
Hello stratwack1 No, I'm not personally but that would because all my items have shipping costs stated. I do support Trade Me pressuring sellers to provide shipping costs if that's what they are doing. In fact in my opinion it should be pretty much compulsory. It might mean some changes so there can be more options for shipping opened up, but really there is no reason you can't add the shipping costs for ANY item if you are going to allow shipping?
The problem is it's all very well reporting people, but sometimes it seems nothing happens. Or it happens very slowly. Perhaps there's things going on "behind the scenes" but I've been reporting a couple that are very clearly in-trade for a while with no action yet. For example you might be interested in buying a GoPro Hero 13 Black Creator Edition for $920 This seller is particularly bad because they're dropshipping as well without permission.
cratecurator You might find your sales increase as buyers search out in-trade sellers so they don't have to pay the service fee. There seems to have been a recent big push flossy63 where casual sellers suspected of being in-trade were switched over by Trade Me without any say from the sellers themselves. I got a bunch of warnings on my Private account myself. So they are probably already onto that. :)
Sellers are protected if they make a genuine mistake. Like listing something for $50 instead of $500. You would have to decide for yourself if it's a genuine mistake. Is it an item others are selling? Is $180 a "too good to be true" price? If you think that they just wanted more, rather than making a genuine error, then yes you would be justified in leaving negative feedback and reporting the seller for refusing to complete the transaction.
Hello Selwyn. If you see shill bidding, or suspected shill bidding, please report it through to Trade Me directly. If they don't know about it, they can't act! At the bottom of the auction page hit the Community Watch link. You can then report it using the drop down menu for that specific issue.
Ah good old Trade Me. Experimenting with new stuff when the place is already full of current and historical problems that need fixing. Nothing unusual about that I guess ;)
Hi ross. As Teresa says your address could indeed be Rural with one or more different couriers. You can use this link to check it. https://www.addresscheck.co.nz/
Here is the kiwibank version of what they are seeing. As I mentioned, it's not a restriction. It's just the bank covering their bottom by saying they don't check account numbers against names. They never have. Which surprises some people.
Hello Mike. It's a sliding scale, so it depends on the current bid value. If you scroll up a page from that autobid help file, you will see this..........
