Then if you click "Get Funds" you are sent to another page which has the major banks icons. This takes you to the internet banking login page. The page you get directed to is an EXACT copy of the genuine internet banking page. The only way you would know you are not on the correct page is the URL which is fake. From here the scammer will harvest your internet banking details, then presumably use those to clean out your account...........
The time has maybe come to increase the 45 day limit. I suggested it at the topic below. Maybe adding another thumbs up or 2 could help getting it considered. https://help.trademe.co.nz/hc/en-us/community/posts/4414153433485-45-days-is-no-longer-enough-
Sellers can blacklist for whatever reason they want. Yes, for some that can include asking for a discount. Sometimes asking a question highlights a potential buyer to a seller and the may also blacklist for other reasons. Like if your feedback isn't looking too flash.
My tip is about making good searchable titles. Get as much detail as possible in your auction title to help you get bumped up the search results list. "jeans for sale" as your title won't get you much love "Levi's men's 501 jeans indigo blue wash size 32 (NZ 82)" is far better Search these days focuses on the title so use all the room you can to cram in what you think people might search for. Have a think about when you search for something how you would do it then copy that over to your title. Descriptive words aren't that useful really either. Nobody really searches for "awesome jeans" so...
Some really good tips there. Another option to consider is having a popular, high selling, low price item to keep your sales up. Even if you are selling an item at cost or only making 10c per item it can allow your listing allowance to increase for your other items. Can be better than the risk of losing money on $1 reserves. Take a peek at large sellers feedback and see what they have that is popular. Think about what you are always needing or buying. Consider reducing your best selling item to see if it will generate even bigger sales. Think phone cables, covers, protectors, inks, batterie...
Hi Gary. To answer you correctly we first need to know if the item is actually faulty. The buyer only has rights under the CGA if there is a problem with the item. So it is not working 100% correctly or wasn't described correctly. From what I read it sounds like it's more a "change of mind." In that case they have no rights under the CGA. You don't have to refund at all. Additionally, they can't demand a refund even if there is a problem with it. It is your right as the seller to repair, replace or refund. For your second question, a buyer can leave negative feedback if they feel the trade ...
Robert. A couple of points. You've mentioned 2FA. You might not be aware that Trade Me already has this? Admittedly it's opt-in. I don't have it activated myself. Mainly because I know my passwords are very strong, and I switch between a couple of account multiple times a day. It makes it unworkable for me to have it switched on. I suspect mandating Ping to casual sellers would force more of them to disappear to Facebook. TM are already trying to compete in that space. It's why casual sellers get all the free listing promos.
Sharon. Mine is in pending too. As will be many others in this thread. It happens automatically. Mainly from keywords and a few other things. They are usually cleared pretty quickly, unless there is something said that breaches the messageboard T&Cs. If you want to you can just add your original comment in a new post as a screenshot (Which makes the pending system a bit silly.) Or just wait for it to clear.
Victoria. Casual sellers listing in clothing are currently affected by the promo that is running. This is a different issue to that which will be affecting in-trade sellers from November 1 The auto Ping activation happens for casual sellers in clothing and home and living until October 11 https://www.trademe.co.nz/c/promo/no-success-fees
Personally as an in-trade seller I don't understand the offer thing. Surely you have the price set where you want for the items you are selling. I mean you don't go into Kmart or whatever and make them an offer on something on the shelf? I trialled it for a while on eBay. Just got inundated with ridiculous offers. Quickly turned it off again. I guess different sellers have different methods of how they work, but it's not for me anyway. If you have offers turned on to me it sends a notice that the price you have listed is far more than what you will actually take.
