Hello ptchevy. Have a little think about it. Imagine bidding on an item, then with 10 minutes to go the seller adds a shipping cost of $200. You wouldn't want to be locked into that I'm sure. Obviously that's an extreme example, but the shipping costs form part of the contract that is made when an auto-bid is created. Presumably that's why it can't be added or changed after bids have been made.
Hello snowrose. No particular problems noticed here. Perhaps some more details would help troubleshoot. You say it won't set you list an item? Are you getting an error message? Are you listing on the App? Desktop? A screenshot of what is happening can be helpful.
Here is a visual look at what your report should look like retep2001 Sometimes it's hard to remember which dropdown it is to get to what you want. From my experience Trade Me sometimes don't act on these reports straight away. They send an email to the seller first and ask them to turn it on. So it might seem like nothing is happening at first. Give it a week to 10 days and if nothing has changed report the seller again. Trade Me can step in and force turn it on if it's an obvious case, and the seller hasn't responded. It also doesn't hurt to ask the seller themselves on their auctions if...
Some sellers recommend adding a dollar or 2 to your estimated shipping costs when you set them. It covers these situations, and packaging materials, printer ink, etc etc. Then if your moral compass swings the other way, and you don't have any real extra shipping costs you can give your buyer a little refund if it turns out to be less. Easy to do with Ping. And makes for glowing customers.
I'll keep an eye on my listings as they close and relist to see what's up. Perhaps older listed or created items are still rolling over, and newer listings aren't. Linked to the old / new systems perhaps. The advice Trade Me gave you ferman was definitely incorrect. At least for some items or sellers. I am in-trade and so far my listings are being relisted with watchers intact. For example this one that closed and was relisted this afternoon: EDIT: To add, I am using My Products. Perhaps if you use the standard method of listing, and are forced onto the new system, watchers don'...
Same as AJ over here. Haven't noticed anything specifically. There is perhaps a general creep towards some buyers expecting instant or same day pick-ups. Doesn't matter if it's by Ping or cash on pick-up. I think this might be to do with Facebook. Messaging is often faster using the on-board messaging over there. Buyers who use both marketplaces maybe expect both systems should work the same. I wish all buyers were that fast though. It's the ones that buy something then tell you they will come and get it next time they are in the area that get me. When "next time in the area" could be we...
Oh I see you are an in-trade seller. If you are talking about this account you are posting from offers have never been available for in-trade sellers.
Yes the two things are related. If Trade Me are not going to mandate sellers to add shipping costs then if someone buys with Ping and it doesn't have a shipping cost they have to pay it *somehow* The answer is to either mandate sellers add shipping costs (Which will cause an outcry by some) Or allow sellers to amend the Ping payment amount after purchase. Also full of problems. Tricky situation they've got themselves in.
Howold. Ping is wholly owned and operated by Trade Me. The Trade Me offices are in Wellington. There isn't a separate Business number for Ping, because it is not a separate business.
Hello doodah3. No. If it's gone it's gone. About all you can do is leave appropriate feedback to say what happened. A seller is not allowed to have an item listed on Trade Me if is also for sale elsewhere.
