How do you change the method of sale?

Brian, when you get to the pricing tab, just add in a Buy Now price and delete the Start price you had for your auction, which will make it a Buy Now only listing as below. I'm In Trade so don't see a Make an offer tab as that's only for casual sellers.

Still getting asked for a start price regardless of having the buy now.

Brian, you can see in the screenshot above it says (optional) in the price fields. Are you seeing that? can you put up a screenshot of what you are seeing to compare? Presumably the auction you want to change is for a general item?

I can’t put up a screenshot, but where yours says optional, mine says “required” in red.

Strange one. If I remove all prices on edit I get asked in red for a start price or a Buy Now price, but it still says optional.
Are you trying to list a general item that would normally be sold by auction? or is it in a special category like Motors, livestock, pets, real estate etc which in some cases can not be auctioned.

My item is a motorcycle that I was auctioning. The auction is finished and no bids.
I just want to change the realist to a sell price with a make an offer tab.
Won’t let me change the method of sale.0 -

Ah, that will be why then. Vehicles are either sold by Classified or auction and don't use the Make an offer feature, but if you wanted to negotiate the price then to list as a classified with ONO selected would be best.

Thanks but that’s not correct. I bought a car that had the make an offer tab a few months ago.
I can’t even change my re list from auction to classified, let alone add the make an offer tab.
Where is trademe support in all this.
Do I have to make and pay for a new listing or something?0 -

Ok, maybe TM need to update their Help pages as there it says "Casual sellers may choose to enable the "Make an Offer" feature on any marketplace auction listing (except firearms and alcohol)."
Marketplace listings do not include vehicles as they come under the Motors section. You could always try creating a new listing and copy/paste from your unsold and see if it can do what you want, and just don't click the final start listing button until you are sure.
Else, might be best if you contact Trademe and ask them how to do what you want to.

Kia Ora All,
Yes! Casual Sellers running a Motor Vehicle Auction only are able to select the 'Make an Offer' option in the Listing Details page, as per the pic below - This is not available on a Classified Listing.
As you are changing the Sale Type you have to create a New Listing - under the circumstance I'm sure TradeMe will Help you with the Listing fee's so you only pay once, you will want to confirm this with them first. - A Staff Member may have access to these fields to make the change for you though I can't guarantee this.To contact TradeMe staff through "Live Chat" for assistance - If you select the Contact us Link at the bottom of any TradeMe page the Chat Tab will Pop up in blue at the bottom right of your Landing page screen, there may be a slight delay in this appearing.Enter in the Chat bot which comes up once the Chat icon is selected - Talk to person - you will be taken to entering your details before arriving at the window to Chat with a Real Person/Staff. - Enter your Listing number in the Chat window so Staff can pull this up readily. The manned hours weekdays are 9:30:am - 5:00pm and weekends 9:30am - 4:pm- Cheers.0 -

Thanks everyone. I'll flag this with the Content team to review the wording on the Help article.
