How do I cancel a purchase?

The item I purchased was from a seller who on the TradeMe website appeared to be located in new Zealand. It was only when I received confirmation from trademe of the purchase that it showed the seller was in China. Then upon reading the buyer feedback I was not happy with many of the comments regarding product quality and time to deliver. Consequently I wish to cancel the transaction, as I should be entitled to do. However I can find nowhere on the TradeMe website that offers advice on how to do this? Everything seems to protect the seller, and only when the transaction is fully completed can the buyer seek reparation. This is not a fair and reasonable way of conducting a business transaction. I wish to CANCEL THE TRANSACTION BEFORE IT IS COMPLETED AND THUS SAVE THE SELLER AND MYSELF ANY FURTHER PROBLEMS. Please call me

Gary-NZStocked Community SuperuserJoe, if you haven't paid, all you need to do to cancel a purchase as you have changed your mind, just email the seller and explain why. If the goods were being dropshipped ie the seller is NZ based according to their profile location, but the goods are coming from outside NZ, then to be a Trademe approved dropshipper they MUST state in the auction description what country the goods are coming from. If the country was not stated, you are well within your rights not to complete the trade as the seller is breaking Trademe's dropshipping T & Cs, and Trademe should be notified by using the Community Watch link on any of the sellers current listings.

It also happened to me just now. The seller's location is in Manukau NZ. After I purchased, I found they got comments there said shipping from China. That's so bad for consumers, can not see the location. Directly.

I have the same problem - seller location is stated as Christchurch - but it is being shipped from China as i find out after purchase - it will not get here in time for what i need it for
Nowhere in the description does it say shipped from China or even indicate shipping times. They even say can pay by cash which is kinda funny
This needs fixing so we can cancel trades that are not as described0 -
