Aramex only shipping option

Hi Jenny. This can happen for a number of reasons. Address not recognised by NZPost, NZpost website or link to Trade Me down, NZPost quota full.
You can try again, including making a booking by manually inputting the buyers address. If still no go you also have the option of booking direct on the NZPost website rather than via Trade Me. The prices there can be different though.

I have noticed that too. I am no expert but I think that sometimes they close off their booking system when they have too many parcels. In that instance I have found that booking the preceding day or night before ensures a pick up. Just checked now and NZ Post is up and running for pick up on Monday.
You could always look at booking through the NZ Post website- I’m not sure of prices but the do offer a pick up service meaning you don’t have to go to the post shop.
Or you could look into Pass the Parcel. They provide their courier bags for free (no ability to print labels required) or you can use your own A4 size courier bags and boxes if you have a printer at home. It generally costs slightly more than Aramex for urban delivery but their rural delivery rates are very competitive.0 -

Kia Ora Jenny,
Yes! I am only getting Aramex prices also when calculating courier costs on creating a New Listing - this indicates, as Callum has advised, the NZPost website or link to Trade Me could be down Or their quota is full atmo' However when the quota is full this normally clears same day - I note you had the same issue yesterday - Are you sending or creating a New Listing & attempting to get the estimated shipping quote?

Kia Ora All,
I've delved further into this courier issue Jenny,
There is a Big Bug in the system where calculating any best price is directing to Aramex only - Not Both NZPost & Aramex.
To have NZPost prices only you have to select the Optional menu for preferred courier to choose NZPost in the meantime. - NOTE: This is only for Bags - Boxes gives you Both couriers still.
NOTE: Book a courier quotes are coming up as normal with Both Couriers.
Optional Menu - After Selecting the More Options Link.

I have sent all reports and screenshots into TM for fix - Cheers.

I choose to calculate shipping once item is sold and then there are no surprises with what the system recognises as rural, extra costs for islands etc. My question was just for the booking a courier for a sold item. Thank you everyone redoing it and manually readding the address fixed the issue. Thank you for all your advice it is appreciated.

Jenny. I think you will find it not legal to ship goods but not take responsibility (as well as being against TMs regulations). If you accepted the money for shipping, you are responsible for it to be delivered. Maybe you dont accept any aramex bookings, or you pack item , give buyer weight and dimensions, and then they can book and pay for courier, and that way you get rid of courier responsibility

Thanks Donal,
This is also relevant to my problem. I am having a problem with insurance payout.
Could you tell me where you found this information, please? I was under the impression that it was law for the couriers to insure their courier of goods under $2,400.

Generally couriers have $2000 claim limit/ parcel. If you look on aramex website , click tool drop down menu and then claims guide. Some couriers cover less such as Passtheparcel. When a buyer pays you for shipping, you have entered into a contract together for goods to be delivered by the sender. If parcel is not delivered, the sender has not met their part of the contract. The buyer cannot make a claim on the courier as the sender has the contract with the courier company, not the buyer

Kia Ora Jan,
Sorry to read you are having to make a claim there,
Delivery services are covered under the Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017 in New Zealand.
Refer to the link below from Consumer NZ who covers this in clear language for easy comprehension - All the Best - Cheers.
