How to shut down afterpay on old account?
Have recently started a new trade me account after the old one was stuck in 'in trade' status and didnt want to deal with the rising selling costs. It had afterpay set up on it and was looking to set it up again on this new account after a couple of users inquired about it.
As its connected to the same bank account it wont let register again on this new account and I cant seem to find a way to disable it on the old account.
Is there any way of fixing this beyond shutting down my old account? I still use it to buy things from occasionally and would prefer not to nuke it.

You are correct. There doesn't seem to be a direct way to remove afterpay yourself once you've activated it.
You could of course use a new bank account with the the new Trade Me account. There is also the option to update your afterpay bank account. Perhaps changing the bank account on your old in-trade account (even to an account you don't intend to use for afterpay) will then free up the account you DO want to use to become available on the new account?
If all that seems to tricky the only option left might be to contact Trade Me directly and see if they can assist.

Hi all
I want to change the bank account to use After Pay. I closed the appeared account and never activated it in Trademe. When I followed the instructions, it said I should click on Manage Account, but this option did not show. I have sent emails, chatbot, etc., and I am still waiting for an answer. Attached is the image of where the Manage Account option should be.

Hi Thais. Yes, because you haven't activated afterpay there is nothing to manage. So that is the screen you will get. Have you clicked the activate link to see what happens? You MIGHT be able to adjust the account linked to afterpay after you hit that link. Once it is all activated this is the screen view you will get.

I clicked the Activate option but the system asked by a code, and I don't have the code because this bank account doesnt exist.

In that case I am out of ideas. Unless someone else has another idea you will have to contact Trade Me via Live Chat to get it sorted out. You can type "Talk to a real person" within Live Chat to speak to someone.
