Contacting seller about a faulty product
I need help contacting a seller as the item is faulty. It is no longer in my 'Won' section and I do not have their email to contact them. It was the last thing I bought from Trademe. The purchase was made around June this year. Can you help me please? I have one very upset Grandaughter with her faulty birthday present.

Hi Jo. Always a good idea to keep emails so you can resolve these things. Did you place feedback for the seller and receive feedback yourself? You could track down the seller that way. Did they have multiples of the item listed? You could search for it again on Trade Me. If there is no luck there you can try contacting Trade Me directly and explain the situation to them.

Kia Ora Jo,
Sorry to hear your item is faulty,
What were the terms of warranty on purchase? - This is now 5mths following the purchase.
Check your emails of purchase from TM including your draft & sent items for any correspondence with your Seller.
If you think your Seller is Professional and may be a registered business you can look the up on the NZ Companies register to possibly obtain their phone number and address details Search the register (companiesoffice.govt.nz)If you can't track your Seller through your Bank statements, TM Feedback, Emails or online you can contact TM through their "Live Chat" facility for assistance. All the Best - Cheers.0 -

Hi Rowena. First of all you would get in contact with the seller to resolve the problem. If they refuse or don't reply then you can contact Trade Me to get their assistance. It might pay to open a dispute now on here because there is a time limit on that.

Kia Ora Rowena,
Sorry to read of the disappointment with this Trade for your Grandson,
Have you contacted the Seller regarding the Faults? - What is the outcome?
Is the Playstation New or second hand? - Is your Seller In Trade or a Private Seller?
What was the date of purchase and what warranty did the PlayStation come with?
Has your Grandson had any use of the PlayStation prior to it becoming Faulty? - What is the actual Fault?
Your first point of contact is to your Seller allowing them to rectify the Fault(s) for you - Depending on the outcome here determines your next steps - In Trade Sellers have more regulations than Private Sellers.
If your Seller has stopped communicating with you, you can place Feedback to help prompt the Seller into action if the Trade closed inside the last 45 days of the Listing closing and you can file a Dispute Resolution from your Won Items for TradeMe's assistance - Beyond the first 45 days of the Listing closing you can still file a Dispute for Faulty Goods within a reasonable time frame.
More information on what's happened here will allow Members to correctly direct you towards your Next Steps - Communicating the Fault(s) with your Seller is always your First Step - Cheers.
