How to obtain a car seller's phone number after closing the auction and when they made an offer
Hi. I would like someone's help please.
A person in Oamaru was selling his car and we were interested in it but we didn't contact them before closing. The auction finished yesterday, and they made an offer. We are very interested in it and would like to have a test drive before the offer closes this Saturday (travelling from Christchurch), but their phone number disappeared from the listing so we have no way to contact them except "accept offer". If you know how to obtain their phone number, could you please let me know? Of can TM ever give it to us?

This is to stop people buying the item outside Trade Me and the seller therefore avoiding success fees.

Hi Callum. Thank you for your comment. For cars, TM states "Listing fee paid upfront – no success fees or withdrawal fees", so I thought it's strange that the seller's contact number disappeared when the auction finished and made an offer. I know I should have actioned/contacted them earlier and I guess we need to wait until they re-list if no one accepts the offer. Many thanks for your time for you and Chris.

Check if your Seller has any other Listings which you can send them a message through the Q&A section of meantime.
TradeMe can't supply contact numbers to other Members as this is against the Privacy Policy - Cheers.

You can ask your Seller to Relist the auction - this is available for that listing # - Cheers.

Thanks but that option does not appear to Bev available to me so I replied to TM and requested they contact the seller for a relist

I'm not sure of the conversation you've had with TM though asking a Seller to Relist for a Member is not something they would normally do - Refer below...

I see the Request for a Relist on the Desktop site if you can access the Desktop through your Device Browser? - If you are viewing through the App ensure you have the latest updated version.
