How do I mark an item as sold?

Hi Donald. For a standard item when you sell it, it automatically moves to your sold items page. You don't need to do anything.
If you are meaning a classified ad you withdraw that yourself. But be very sure it has definitely sold. Money in hand or bank, buyer happy. You may even like to wait a few more days after that in case something crops up. This is because once you remove a classified that's it. No going back, you have to repay all fees to relist it and rewrite the ad if you withdraw it.
If you mean you sold an item listed on Trade Me somewhere else, except for a classified listing as above, put yourself in the naughty corner. Items listed on here are to be sold on here.

Listing 4322260956 6 x 4 Dual Purpose Trailer was SOLD but T/Me marked it as "Withdrawn".
How can I get this corrected (for the record) and place/receive feedback??
Thanks Mike1 -

You can't Mike. Once you have withdrawn the listing it can't be reinstated. The listing has to be sold/purchased through Trademe for either party to be able to place feedback. Classifieds never have a feedback option.

The buyer stated "Consider it Sold" in the listing hence I marked it as "Sold, together with the price" however, T/me noted it as "Withdrawn" Beats me how that could come about and annoying when one is unable to communicate with T/me.

Hi Mike. Yes, that is a classified advertisement. There is no way Trade Me, or anyone else, knows who it sold to. That was all arranged privately between you and the buyer. This is why feedback can't be placed. It has been this way on here since the website began.
If you want to have the ability to leave feedback you need to advertise your item as an auction with or without a buynow price. That way there is a trail of who bought it, and for how much.

Kia Ora Mike,
A classified listing when sold doesn't close down and be archived the way an auction listing does - therefore the Sold closed listing has to be withdrawn from the platform - it is like a classified ad in a newspaper - once it's gone/sold TM has no onus to keep on their system which causes storage costs - Cheers.

OK thanks for that, I guess I have usually used an Auction on previous sales.
