Seller's rules - withdrawing an auction

Yes Ross, as you have seen, they can withdraw. They are not supposed to though and certainly should not specifically to sell elsewhere after bidding has met reserve. If you let Trademe know they can make a note against the members account and warn them not to do it again.

Kia Ora Ross,
TM Listing Policies: Listing an item is a commitment to sell it through Trade Me – you may not withdraw an item because it has not reached the price you wanted.
However Casual Sellers using the 'Make an offer' feature can accept offers on items that have bids Only if the Reserve has not been met.
You can report this Seller to TM if the Reserve had been met before this Listing was withdrawn through their "Live Chat" facility. - Once you've selected the Contact us Chat Tab you need to give the landing page a count of 15+ seconds for the Chat Tab to Pop up in blue at the bottom right of your screen, there is a slight delay in this appearing.
The 'Live Chat' manned hrs Monday - Friday are 8:am - 6:30pm & Saturday - Sunday 8:30am - 4:pm.
You will have to leave it with the TM Agent to investigate and take any action they may impose on the Seller - they will not be ab;le to report back to you with this as it would be in breach of the Privacy Policies.
All the Best with your next purchase - Cheers.

I have won an auction on trademe tonight a 65 inch tv I won for $505. I have looked at the auction and your after it closed and it’s been withdrawn by the administrator!
I thought the seller couldn’t do this especially if the auction had reached its “reserve”
It’s totally unfair and disappointing to say the least0 -

Amanda, as you have said, the seller did not withdraw the auction, but a Trademe administrator has, so luckily you haven't won it. Trademe often do this if they suspect the seller does not have the goods and they have not provided proof to Trademe in follow up emails. Looks like you were saved from getting scammed.

Kia Ora Amanda,
Withdrawn by Administrator means TM has withdrawn the Listing - for them to do this indicates there was an issue most likely with the authenticity of the Listing and you very likely have been saved from losing a large sum of money here. - Keep your eyes on your emails for any from the TM Team - be very cautious of any emails from the Seller and any fake emails pretending to be from TradeMe. - Do not open any of these and Most Importantly Don't click on any links from within them.
Any fake emails with the pretense of being TradeMe can be forwarded Directly through to their Trust & Safety Team using the abuse@trademe.co.nz email address - Cheers.

I won an item on trade me and the seller has withdrawn it not shown as won and less than 24 hrs there is a more problem with the vehicle what do I do? Is there a dispute process as the seller won't refund my money for a faulty item, not fit for purpose. Also, how do I get trade me to make contact with me as I need help with this urgently.

Kia ora Michelle, sorry to hear that this has happened, here is a link to contact us. If the seller isn't willing to resolve the issues you might want to file a dispute report.
