Buyer protection, Ping, lodging a dispute
I need help, I tried to lodge a dispute for an item that I have not received but it has disappeared from my 'won' list, when I select the transaction from my Ping account it says something has gone wrong. So I have no way of registering a complaint through the trademe systems.
I was advised 10-15 working days delivery, I have emailed the seller 3 times. I have received generic emails advising delays but nothing specific.

Kia Ora Hayley,
As this has been over 45 days since purchase the item is not available on your Won items for filing a Dispute report. TM only offer Buyer Protection if paid for the item by Ping or Afterpay within the first 30 days of the listing closing and offer of assistance with internet banking or cash purchases up to 45 days of the listing closing. Feedback can also only be placed within 45 days of the listing closing.
Your options unfortunately at this stage are to hang in wait of the Seller or by Making a Disputes Tribunal claim as a buyer.
The commencement of a Dispute Tribunal claim may encourage the Seller to issue a refund though this is a Maybe. If your Seller is a repeat offender TM will be interested in hearing of this case and you can reach them through the Live Chat portal. Unfortunately though they will not review your case being over the 45 days since listing closure.
All the Best with the outcome here - Cheers.

Hi Hayley. Yes this is a major drawback of the buyer protection system. The time limit is simply not good enough when we have international sellers and dropshippers on here. All you can do is contact Trade Me in another way (eg Live Chat) explain that the item you purchased on their website didn't arrive, and see if they can help.
I know it's hindsight but in future try to stick to local sellers and check feedback. That book is available from others locally. Personally I wouldn't consider buying from a seller with close to 2000 negative and neutral feedback.

I purchased a dryer from a wellington “in trade” trader and the seller offered free delivery and trade me offered a guarantee if I paid by ping. So I purchased but did not receive the dryer. I put a complaint into trademe; the reply was I needed to give the trader more time, which I did then resent the complaint. Trademe then advised the complaint was closed their end because they hadn’t heard from me,?! So I then reactivated the complaint and have heard nothing. As I have read other users with similar issues I am thinking of taking this to the small claims tribunal.
Interested in anyone has had similar experience with the Ping guarantee0 -

Kia Ora David,
Yes! Ping repayment to the Buyer under the Buyer Protection clause can take some time to be processed - Refer to Post: Seller slowing the Ping refund?
The caution here is proceeding with a small claims court will outrule your ability to be refunded full cost from TradeMe - whilst the wait may be long it is paid in full including shipping cost - Cheers.

Kia Ora Justine,
This is the community forum you are on here, we are members of TM just like yourself - we are not TradeMe staff. This community forum is in place for all members to help each other where we can.
Ad's come through third party advertisers and are automatically pulled through via an algorithm - TM have a team who ensure advertising on site is relevant & unharmful - To report this through to the correct staff for investigation you can contact TradeMe via "Live Chat" for immediate assistance with this &/or leave them a message.
The "Live Chat" hours are weekdays are 8:am - 6:30pm and weekends 8:30am - 4:pm
Once you've selected the Contact us Chat Tab you need to give the landing page a count of 15+ seconds for the Chat Tab to Pop up in blue at the bottom right of your screen, there is a slight delay in this appearing. - Cheers

Dispute Report #344573 - it stated "Sorry to hear the trouble with the trade hasn’t been sorted. A Disputes Officer in our team will be reviewing this under our Buyer Protection policy and will be in touch within the next two weeks."
- Now it's already over 2 weeks and no further communication from Trade Me yet. How do I contact Trade Me to know the current status as I can't reply to their email?

Kia Ora Shubhrakamal,
You can contact TradeMe through the Live Chat as in above comment - Have your Service Request ticket number (Dispute Report number) entered into the Live Chat window enabling the agent to pull your case up easily - 2 weeks on there may be no news to report to you as yet though hopefully the nudge may help refocus on your case - Cheers.

The real problem here is TradeMe should monitor Negative Feedbacks instead of just saying that providing the 95% is met the seller is all good.
