Changing a category or sub category on classified?

Are you able to change a category or subcategory after your classified goes live? It appears that to do this you need to create a whole new listing and pay another fee.......

Callum Community SuperuserNo. This is to stop people listing a classified, then simply changing it to something else once it has sold. and avoid the fee again.
You MIGHT be able to ask TM to do it for you, but I had a funny feeling even they are not able to do that. They could perhaps refund your fee if you withdraw and allow you to start over in the correct category. As long as it's obvious there is a mistake where you have it listed now.

The category for my sale, is greyed out when I try to edit my sale item how can I open this?

Are you trying to change Categories?
What Category is your Sale item in?
Some Categories can't be changed depending on the Type of listing you have - where this is greyed out you need to withdraw the Listing and create a new Listing in the correct category.
