Can I ask for a refund if I send the item back unopened?

I bought an item for my Son's birthday but it is the wrong one. 5 minutes after the sale i sent the Seller an email asking for the order to be canceled but no answer. 3 more days after 2 more emails still no answer item arrives. Another email requesting return address no answer. As it seems Trade Me no longer has a Help email please where do i stand?

Sorry to hear this. Normally you and your Seller would discuss and negotiate accordingly - as you have No Response from your Seller at all place feedback relaying you have sent several emails with no response, please check your junk/spam folder, you had requested a return address and refund accordingly, please make contact asap.
If you select the Dispute Resolution tab in your Won items TM may be able to email your Seller also in attempt to get this Seller to make contact to help resolve your issue.
Your Seller is not obligated to provide a refund for return of item as you have changed your mind here - most Sellers would however be more helpful.
