Delivery instructions box faulty
AnsweredIve been saving dozens of emails from customers where they say they put a note in delivery instructions box but it has come through blank. I sent many examples to trade me with screen shots. They say they are aware of the bug, but im not sure they are, as its been over 6 months and nothing has changed. Still get about 5-10 every week that im aware of. I am not aware of it unless the customer informs me. Delivery instructions are somewhat important, especially when sending high value items with authority to leave in a specific location, but no instruction is deceived. Bad for seller, bad for customer.

If you use my products you need to copy and paste into the correct box, it is not automatically entered
but on the normal auction booking they are automatically entered?, and if it is just a note to seller you have to remove it,
or blank it out after you have printed label, I rarely go there, usually only if an address issue, I go the slow way,

There are no problems printing etc. Its not on my end. If they come through on trade me, they print fine.
The problem is with buyer input. There is some bug or user error (based flawed design by trade me). Most people wont notice this unless they sell custom items. But about 5-10 times per week, a customer will put instructions for engraving in the delivery note. Doesnt show up though, anywhere. Not on trade me website "delivery address" section or on the purchase email. The only reason I will know that there was meant to be info added there, is that I email customer asking for instructions, and they say they put it in the delivery note.

Hi there, thanks for posting. This is an issue that we're aware of in some buying situations. Our dedicated team continue to work on getting this resolved and I'll update you when there is any news available.
In the meantime, as a seller it would be a good idea to encourage your buyers to specify any colour or size choices (or other important info) through email.

Yeah, good to know it may be faulty. I pain stakingly tap in "leave at back door" on every purchase and as yet not a one has made it there. Didnt know if it was the seller not passing tbe info onto courier of courier just not giving a damn.
Lost a package today cos courier signed my name for it (FRAUD) and left it on the front door in plain view of the street. I was out an hour and it was gone.Have since lost a day emailing the seller and nzpost back n forward.
Part of the issue with trade me handling the delivery request is that it's dropped off any emails to the buyer so there is no record in case of dispute. There should be a record of instructions echoed to the email from t. Me.

If the delivery note was successful, it will show up under "items I won" and then click on delivery address etc. But that wont help if you put in the note but it failed to process. Ive been emailing trade me for over a year with customers who say they have put in a note and nothing has come through. So they arent in a hurry to fix it. I would send them an email with your story as this is what im worried about. If delivery instructions arent followed because they never made it onto the package, the seller isnt at fault, and neither is the buyer. And I doubt trade me will take responsibility for sucking.

Going on 2 years. Still broken. Any updates on the progress? I cant imagine fixing a text box is complicated which was once working.
I get these on a daily basis but this one from this morning:

I have been chasing this around, IF the instructions get to the seller AND they put them on the package THEN there is still no guarantee its going to get to the correct place. My courier absolutley REFUSES to go to my back door whether pickup or drop off as requested..
trade me is broken (1) they say email the seller (2) log into nzpost and do it yourself (3) and still not gonna happen because the driver is a cnut. Aramex is no better.-1 -
Still getting daily bugs here. Delivery instructions are an important part of selling. Another 2 today.

Seriously wasting your time, trade me may not work but end of day the drivers dont care, its going in your letter box or left at front door. Trust me i have taken this to task with nzpost and aramex and its just not a happening thing.

Nzpost still sells signature required post even though signatures are not being collected under covid non contact delivery rules, its just treated as a normal tracked delivery... I have told them thats fraud and they should stop selling signature post.... Will they stop? Nope, not on your nelly.
