Make an Offer
AnsweredI recently put up a lising with the make an offer feature. I subscequently received an email from TM stating that a buyer had made an offer. However I spent an inordinate amout of time trying to work out how to accept that offer. I could not find anything in either the mobile app or the desktop site. Trademe you supply plenty of assistance to buyers on how to navigate the site but not enough to sellers. Can you please put up instructions on how to do this.
Many thanks

Hello jacma
Does the item have a bid on it, or was the offer made more than 24 hours ago? Both of those will cause an offer to become invalid.

By the way, you might want to remove or change this on your listings
"For pick up arrangements my telephone number is supplied in the payment instructions which you will receive automatically. Please dont send me an email asking for details."
Payment instructions are no longer automatically sent to buyers. So for pickups they will indeed need to email you. Or you will need to manually email them at auction close.

Thanks Callum, I eventually sold the item but I was wanting to know for the future. This is my personal account which I only use occasionally. My business account does not have the feature so I was not familiar with how it worked. I have been around on TM since 2002 and the one thing I really really miss is the old community board. It was such a mine of information.
"Payment instructions are no longer automatically sent to buyers" See I had no idea this had changed and wondered why people still sent emails. Its madness. I simple phone call gets all of the dtails sorted in under a minute. Thanks for letting me know. I appreciate it. Ill get that all removed. They are still sent on my business account though

Kia Ora jacma,
Currently for your Personal account you can go to the notification to open the listing, at the top it says 'Auction details' underneath that you should see the number of bids pending in blue with a red dot on the $ symbol > click on that for options to accept, decline or counter offer. - Counter offers aren't available on all listings created on the new system as yet, it's a work in progress and hopefully not too far off. - I agree this instruction needs to be written into the Help file for Sellers. - Cheers.
