So what is the reason for having our suburb in Shipping page.
Some time ago there were posts about having to show our suburb in shipping page. Even when pick ups weren't allowed. A few had privacy concerns, no one knows if it is shown to auction viewers. Why is it there? It seems unnecessary? And why has it not been removed as stated in the now removed posts about it?

I think this is related to searching L
Do you have a phone / App? You can try it yourself.
When I search for something (on the App, not the Desktop) it comes up with a bunch of "listings near me." as a suggestion from my search. The suburb location will be required so it can do this. I guess it's not clever enough to get rid of items that don't offer pick-up.
This is a fairly obvious nod to Facebook Marketplace, which does the same thing on their search.

Hi Callum. Thank you. No I don't use the app.
A few of us asked what this was about a few weeks ago. It was causing relisting problems. Michelle stated it was to be removed but we never got an explanation what is was for. It would have been nice to hear from trade me as to why is was there. And of course, as you can see, it hasn't been removed. :)

Kia ora L, the suburb field is only asked for if you are allowing pick ups, we did remove it as a requirement back in April. It should just be giving the district by default for listings with no pick ups, for example Wellington city for no pick ups, Te Aro (suburb, asked for) if offering pick ups. The suburb option is there so that users can list their items in a different location to their registered address if they need, and also show closer pick up information if they want to. If you're being required to give a suburb for a no pick up listing, can you send me some screenshots, the category you're listing in, browser and version. Also I'd try the usual cookie and cache clear.

Thanks Michelle, appreciate the info and explanation. If I create a new listing and strike any issues I'll let you know.

Kia ora Trade Me Support,
I hope you're doing well.
I'm writing regarding my listing (Listing ID: 6004918147), as I'm concerned there may be an issue affecting its visibility.
When creating the listing, I purchased the Featured upgrade (approximately $3.95) because I urgently need to sell the item as quickly as possible. I chose this upgrade specifically because it was recommended as the best option to maximise exposure and attract buyers.
Unfortunately, several hours after the listing went live, it has only received three views. This is very unusual compared with what I expected, and I'm worried there may be a technical issue preventing the listing from being shown correctly. Given the value of the item, the competitive price, and the Featured upgrade, I'm concerned it may not be appearing where it should.
I'm currently dealing with an urgent family emergency, which is why selling this item promptly is so important to me. I appreciate that you can't guarantee a sale, but I would be extremely grateful if someone could urgently review the listing to confirm it is being displayed correctly in search results, featured placements, recommendations, and anywhere else it should appear as part of the Featured package.
If there is any issue with the listing or its promotion, I'd sincerely appreciate anything that can be done to correct it as soon as possible.
I'm a first-time Trade Me user and was hoping to move my business to Trade Me, but if this isn't fixed urgently I may not continue.
Thank you very much for taking the time to look into this. I genuinely appreciate any assistance or urgency you can provide.
Kind regards,
James
