saving draft
Hey TM Peeps does anyone know if a listing can be paused and saved as draft for completion later as info is gathered away from the site?
Thanks
Nick

Yes. The method might differ slightly depending on what the item is, and if you are listing on desktop or App.

Hi thanks for that, any clue how I do this? I'm 63 and not savvy about tech things...

It's a section for sale so maybe that's the issue?

Hello shutterbug. It will automatically save when you leave.
Then you go back and start the process again you will see that the stuff you started working on will still be there.
To be safe you won't want to list anything else in-between working on it. That could clear your draft.
To be super duper safe you might instead like to save your description etc on another piece of software (Apple pages?) so you can copy that across when you are ready.

Kia Ora All,
Good advice to save your description etc in another piece of software / document writer for the Property Listings from Callum, - I ran a couple of section tests through the Listing process yesterday, Desktop site, Edge Browser & can confirm starting a second listing although through a different thread I had both drafts not save - to expand on that... 1 I listed as residential - for sale - section ... the 2nd was rural - bare land. - Neither of these draft Listings saved as drafts.
I started off the Rural - bare land Listing again which saved as a draft after exiting the listing creation, it was still saved as a draft Ok when I checked before signing out of TradeMe and shutting the computer down overnight, today that saved draft isn't there for me to continue. - I'll feed this through to the Support staff in the hopes a quick fix is found.
I can confirm General item Draft Listings are saving no problem and I currently have 5 Drafts saved within that section. - Cheers.

Just updating,
I trialed another single Draft Property Listing yesterday with same result - the Listing remained as a draft however on Logging out of TradeMe overnight the draft no longer is there for me today 17 May 2026. - Am still awaiting staff to acknowledge the fault, will update then. - Cheers.

Thanks, I noticed that it saved the fact that I was listing property on the first page but I had to fill in all fields from there. I have finished the listing but this was a learning curve, never put off til tomorrow as Trade Me wants you to do it today...

Kia ora shutterbug and S, to resume a saved draft of your Property listing, you'll need to select 'Start a listing' and follow the same category path you chose initially. For example, to resume a listing for a residential house, you would need to select: Property > Residential > For Sale > House. Once you have selected the correct categories and click 'Next', you'll be able to pick up where you left off. Let me know if this isn't working as expected and I'll pass it on to the team.

Kia Ora Michelle,
We know how the process is supposed to work - this is Not working in Property Listings - the Draft isn't saving once you log out of TradeMe. - There is a fault in the system!
And you can't save more than 1 draft even though it's through a completely different Property Listing path - this cancels any pre-saved draft through any other Property Listing path, though if you logout of TradeMe this cancels the pre-saved draft anyway, as above. - This may be the original design, that starting a second property Listing cancels out the first even though it's a different Listing path used though it shouldn't be the case as many Members will be Listing in more than one path.
As shutterbug2 has reported,
When going back into that draft - same login session - the draft is only saving the first page of entered information - Not the full draft of pages information that was entered.
Logout of TradeMe the draft is Not Saved at all.
Thanks.

Kia Ora shutterbug2,
I have received confirmation from TradeMe staff that this error with the Property drafts has been acknowledged and passed through to the tech team for resolve, Thanks so much for your Post which has identified the inability to save drafts in this category, hopefully a fix isn't too far off. - Cheers.😊
