Hello strawberry117. Yes, it can take a few days sometimes. Luckily your item is still live, so people can find it and add it to watchlist in the meantime.
I know it doesn't help you now, but for highly desirable and expensive items like the iPhone it's a good idea to have detailed photos and information available on the listing when you first list it.

also i have several apple products to list. i save furiously for these and use afterpay. will this happen on every listing? i want to post 2 macbooks, possibly another 2 iphones and my imac. 3 days is too long to wait to get a listing live

Kia Ora strawberry117,
Yes! the system has flagged your listing for an authenticity check for site security which is quite common with higher end products & well known goods commonly used in scams like your cell phones, computers, laptop & gaming etc. items.
As Callum has advised including as much information about the phone in your descriptions which is unique to the item in hand, providing photo's of purchase documents & receipts along with a current dated newspaper showing with the item(s) or a hand written note with your membership User name and the current date to show you have possession of them may help speed the process up for you. I understand you weren't able to post photo's in this instance.
If you've purchased the items to on sell your account should be In-Trade - Listing multiple individual listings within these categories can also trigger the system to halt for the same authenticity security check.
As business is only just resuming from holiday mode it may take a little longer for checks to be manually processed than usual. - All the Best.
