im having trouble with recieving an item i have paid for....
Hi folks, (i am the buyer)
[I do appreciate that the Xmas period always has foreseeable impracticability but this is not an excuse for poor services]
Looking for some advice on how to proceed with this trade im having trouble with -
*21Dec paid for computer as soon as auction concluded and used AfterPay (i have already made 1st payment towards that debt). In same time as auction ending, ive email the seller as common courtesy......*Had nil contact from seller what so ever???.......*after 7 days waiting i emailed seller with austerity & received a reply from seller that very same day with excuses then saying tracking number to be sent next few days and so forth...I then replied to the seller with 2 emails saying ok fine will work with that and also sent a few facts for them to be aware of..........*2 days later, nil tracking number or email received from seller so I sent another email then clearly stating again my understanding of busy period but this is no excuse for not keeping me up-to date......have said i was willing to wait a further week making that time frame a total of 3 weeks to complete the trade.......
*i had a look at the seller feedback over last 2 years (2024/2025) and read each of the 650 feedback comments. 85 feedback comments, regardless of yellow.blue.red faces, reflect some sort of problem experienced from poor/nil communication, wrong faulty product, no product received, no tracking numbers, list goes on and on. %15 not happy campers.
*very obvious that it is and will never be plain sailing when trading with this person.
How do i go organizing a refund/dispute? I haven't yet left feedback as i am still awaiting trade. When do i leave feedback? Have given the seller ultimatum that 3 weeks will ample time to complete the trade, is a non normative way to expect a trade to take and have been clear on more than 1 occasion in my emails of the steps i am going follow.
Any info is welcome. thanks

Hi. So the seller has agreed to send tracking to you in a few days and you have agreed to this. Perhaps be patient and wait for the tracking. I know it is hard to be patient when waiting for something you need but as you say Christmas holidays can be busy. the courier cut off date for many was december 18th. There are very few business days up to monday the 5th.Some businesses close over the break.
If you have not heard anything by then you can lodge a dispute from your won item page.

To answer your question about when to leave feedback. You have said to us (and the seller) that you will give them 3 weeks. That date is 11th January. So that would be your answer to that part of your problem.
You might like to use the same date as your deadline for opening a Dispute, to answer another of your questions.
And of course the time to check feedback is before you purchase something, not after. But I get that many of us fall into that trap for whatever reason.

Thanks for the info
3 weeks in time given from date of purchase = 5 January 2026.
A dispute shows here must be lodged within 30days so cant wait around endless.
Appreciating that the Xmas period always has foreseeable impracticability but there is 6 working days in that time from 22ndDec2025 to 5thJan2026
Past 2years of feedback shows a recurring theme concerning poor communication/shipping/problems with product to mention a few.
Trade is not plain-sailing, is non-normative process/practice. Hit and miss.
True dat, should have researched the feedback prior to bidding and i normally do but fell short there this time.
Might work out but might not if using a history as a prediction for possible future outcome.
See what evolves. Probably is not the best time of year either.
Thanks

Just a thought. The time you gave to the seller is 3 weeks from the 21st December as stated above. If so that would be the 12th of January. Still within the timeframe to lodge a dispute.

thanks for pointing that out. just had another count...
hells bells, i cant even count properly!
must be earlier than expected onset of dementia setting in...or far to much time on my hands. more than likely both!
getting far too ahead of myself there aren't i.
i generally have had no trouble with any trades at all as i always relyd heavily on studying the feedback prior to bidding. half assed it this time tho didnt i.
the only times i have had any form of hassel with trading is when myself has listed vehicles without putting "terms & conditions" within the auction. learnt that the hardway to avoid tyre kickers and winning bidders & buynowers who turn ghost.
feedback and ability to remove bids are pretty solid tools to try for a smooth as possibly can be had trade where risk is concerned.
thanks for ur helps

thanks m8 and have cracker new year!
