Bad wording of TM listing template
In our listings next to the price is a TM inserted word in brackets (each). So if you are selling 10 widgets as a pack or lot, and you state in your listing that listing is for 10 widgets, but next to the price TM have written "each". So this automatically puts uncertainty and confusion in the potential buyers mind if the price is per unit, or price is for all 10 items. We all know people dont read listing details properly (if at all in some cases) and they just Zero in on the price with (each) sat beside it.
I get so many questions each week asking if price is for each unit or for all 10 widgets. There also many more people who have the same question in their head but never ask the seller, so just pass the listing by. A sale missed for seller, success fees missed for TM. Come on TM, you can do much better with a simple change of wording. Instead of "each", it could read "This listing" or some other better word to get rid of all this confusion, its been going on for years

Yes, I have pondered this before. In the end I decided don't think there IS another word that could be used that wouldn't still cause confusion. Changing it to something else could mess up the understanding of the other 99% of items on here that ARE for only one item.
Instead I just make sure via description and photo that buyers know what they are getting.
So first line of description states "You are buying 10 widgets for $10" It's important to get the price in there. That gives buyers a crystal clear indication when they hit buynow.
Also if the listing is for 10 items, show those 10 items in the photo. You can even overlay it with a big "10x" watermark for added impact.

Yes, it's been like that since they introduced Multi Quantity Listings (MQLs) back in July 2011. It's also a very common question on mine, 2 times this week already, no matter how clearly it's spelled out in the listing and title.
Another infuriating associated thing is the automatic carry over to watchlist problem as it allocates stock to pending FPOs that are then not available in the relisted MQL. Had one listing yesterday for 12 items per listing that had a qty of 6 but as there was a carry over FPO to 5 people the current listing only shows 1 available. When I withdraw existing FPO it takes ages before stock from the FPO is automatically added back to the live listing. Trying to rush things along by editing the stock qty in MP and updating live listings so I can answer the buyers question re wanting more than one lot is problematical too, as the FPO although cancelled, has a hook in the stock allocation that doesn't release immediately, so you get stock error messages and further delays while waiting to be able to explain it all to the potential buyer. I'm going to reduce FPO time to reduce this problem as it seems to be more prevalent lately. Maybe as more people use MP it is getting slower in background processes.
