Eligible Bank Accounts In Australia
Answered-
Not many to chose from here. BNZ, Westpac, ANZ, ASB, Kiwibank. And thats all the big banks. HSBC (while a global giant, is tiny here and only like big $ customers). There are a few smaller local banks TSB, Coop, heartland, SBS, Rabo etc and then a few overseas banks that have set up shop here, but remain tiny in their market share. Google "list of banks in NZ and wikipedia has the lot

Money laundering laws are so strict now, it makes opening overseas accounts so difficult.

Hello Chloe. Seems a bit strange support would say that. I'm not aware of any banks that will allow you to open an account here unless you are resident, or intending to be. I would think the casual sellers from Australia on here would have some kind of link to NZ. Like they live half and half, are expats who have left their account open, or have immediate family here and they piggyback on their bank account.
Are you just a casual seller? If you are intending to sell as a business you can apply to do that. You don't need an NZ bank account in that case. You offer Ping and or Afterpay as your payment options rather than direct deposit into a bank account.

Kia Ora Chloe,
You can find other important information in the Terms & Conditions Number 4. Listing & Selling clause 4.2 - Cheers.

Unfortunately When signing up to offer Afterpay, it immediately asks for an NZ bank account number (not any internet banks like Wise), and to withdraw your Ping balance, the same is required to proceed.
