Disabled account scammer
AnsweredI recently bought an item from a new member. I paid by ping and his account has now been disabled due to 2 negative feedbacks. This was a new trader not a hacked account. I've tried contacting trade me and they said to give it a week for the seller to get in touch, even though they have disabled his account. Trade me are very difficult to communicate with as their emails are no reply, so I'm hoping someone here can help me with what I can / should do? Thanks

Sorry to read of your experience with that Trade,
Have a look at your payment instructions from your Seller for a phone number incase it is given, if you received these.- Have you checked your spam / junk folder in case an email has ended up there?
- Have you sent your address for Delivery through TradeMe?
- Have you checked your Won items to see if the item is there? - Perhaps a Courier tracking has been applied if it is?
Sellers are given a week to complete the Trade hence TradeMe advising to wait a week for your Seller to be in touch. - For Buyer Protection you have 30 days since successful purchase to file your report within. - You can contact TradeMe via their "Live Chat" facility and type - Talk to person - in the bot window to be transferred to a Real Person/Staff member if the item is no longer in your won items for you to file a Dispute report against, on day 8 of the Listing closing. - All the Best!

Hello Glen. The best way forward would be to open a dispute for this trade. You can access that from your Won page. Trade Me do give the seller the opportunity to honour the trade. Even if they have disabled their account.

The buyer has now been in touch and claims to have received no payment as his account has been disabled. Where do I go from here? I'm really at the mercy of Trade Me and the seller. Just looking for a little bit of help and don't want to be out of pocket.

Now you have confirmation from the Seller the item hasn't been sent & they don't have your payment contact TradeMe staff back directly with a copy or screenshot of this email.
The Live Chat manned hours weekdays are 8:00am - 5:30pm and weekends 9:30am - 4:pm- Cheers.0
