Trademe asking me to go to my bank acc
AnsweredAfter we won an auction we are asked by Trademe to go to our bank account and retrieve a code # to insure our credit card is valid? Is this the usual with Trademe. Have never had it before.
Still have not done this yet.

- Type 'Harmful communications, phishing & scams' in the search box
- click on the phishing and scams blog post (blue written link)
- scroll down the page to 'What to do if we ask you for a verification reference'
- clicking into that subject box you will find all the information you need to proceed - Cheers.

Hi Clive, sorry for the confusion there. As long as the email is from an @trademe.co.nz email address it will be a legitimate email from us. Our Trust and Safety team do perform checks on first-time or large Ping payments. The code they've requested will be attached to a 1-cent deposit into the bank account your payment was made from.
