Preventing users from adding items to watchlist

Yes, I know the feeling, months ago I blacklisted one such watcher, to stop automatic Fixed price offers going out to them via my products, which were never accepted or declined, been a watcher for a very long time, when I could have just relisted the items, but still get Blacklisted members watching,
which also waste my time on occasions when I do do manual FPO's to find watchers are just blacklisted members,

No, there is no way to block a member adding something to their watchlist Carol. If you find something that they are the only watcher on, you could send them an inflated offer, which might give them the hint. Remember also that Trademe these days automatically adds some items to a members watchlist automatically on relist, so a once off add to watchlist may stay there a long time before the other member realises and takes it off before close.
Also, a lot of people add to watchlist when they see something even if they don't have the money right now or if they haven't quite decided, then come back some weeks later to purchase when they have made up their mind/got the money. If you've blacklisted, you'll never know.

Hey Gary, thanks for your response. I have tried the vastly inflated FPO but shes as thick as a brick and never gets the hint. She does buy same genre from others which makes me think shes living in hope that I might drop my price despite wording in my listing. She never sells anything so cant leave a hint via questions on a listing, neither does she ever leave a question for me. Looks like I'm stumped :(

Actually she has p*ssed me off so much that I wouldnt sell to her under any circumstances. I'd rather my item remained unsold. If only she knew that!!

One thing with Fixed price offers is, you can opt out of the E-Mails, so they may never know they have an offer, unless they go to lost page etc. or even log onto Trade me,
So your comment about being thick is very uncalled for, when they may not be getting FPO E-Mails at all, you cannot decline something you do not know about,

I can understand why the automatic regeneration of the watchlist when items are relisted might be thought to be useful but I'm hating it. I have no way of knowing anymore whether I have new or continued interest in my listings, or if its just the 'once-off' browsers stuck on my listing for eternity. Surely the old message 'this item on your watchlist has been relisted' was enough for people who were genuinely watching long-term.
