Blacklisting function not working - error message - 500 internal server error?
Hi is anyone having trouble with this function? I'm trying to Blacklist a member who has been outbidding other bidders to win auctions then not following through with the purchase.
I have tried on my laptop, I phone App, Iphone browser (website) and no luck. I always get the same error 500 message and an Oops there was a slip up message.
Incredibly frustrating and maybe Trademe techs need to look at this as it is a vital tool in keeping us safe from time wasters.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

That message usually means the member is already on your blacklist. Refresh your blacklist page and have a look there to see. There are many pages that return that generic server error when the TM peeps have forgotten to provide an informative error message.

Thanks Gary, I have refreshed multiple times. Even shutdown and restarted but this particular user name is definitely is still not showing on my list of Blacklisted traders sadly.

Double check the spelling, or better yet, copy and paste their username as some people have different chars slightly or a space at the end or similar. Other than that, it could be that Trademe have disabled them already but they have an autobid that's still working. Try looking searching their name on the members search page.

Yep tried all of those, copy and paste, hand type name. Account still there when I go through the sales page. I have placed feedback successfully today so account still showing.
I appreciate your taking time to give helpful comment and give suggestions. I guess I will just have to hope that you are correct and Trademe have already deactivated the account.

Umm, just searched via the search members link https://www.trademe.co.nz/Community/MemberProfiles.aspx
and her profile doesn't come up so perhaps you are correct and they have already been removed.

Oh, no forget that tried once more in the member search but copy and pasted and her profile came up so still active.

You might need to contact Trademe. As you have traded with them, sort of, you will be able to see their profile even if they are disabled, where other members won't be able to, but there always used to be a message in red telling you they are disabled. Might depend if you are on the new site or the old one. I'll go and see if I can check.
Just checked on some disabled members and they all come up with the server 500 error page but I don't seem to have any I've traded with noted down to be able to check old and new sites.

Thanks Gary, you have been incredibly helpful, I do appreciate you taking the time to help me with this query. Funnily, I thought I would give one more try and miraculously it has now worked and the member in question has added to my list with confirmation from Trademe ( #$%**@#$ has been added to your blacklist.)
Technology huh, may of just been a small glitch that has since been fixed.
Have a great weekend!
