125cc ''motorbikes'' constantly pushed & sold as/reg as 50cc mopeds on tm = fakes/frauds!
Why does tm endlessly & constantly ''permit'', turn a blind eye to blatant self described in your face counterfeit, Fraudulent, fake dishonest listings on it's platform. Sellers with fake fraudulent main headings stating a bike is 50cc, when in fact on endless occasions seller openly admits & states the bike has 125cc engine. Nz moped law clearly states for a bike to be classed as a moped It MUST be 50cc or under.. This type of clear & present in your face misleading false & very illegal practice is all to common. ''Putting the safety & life of the buyer in serious danger'', due to mopeds by law not having to get warrant of fitness safety checks nor have to get a motorbike licence to ride a more double the power & speed 125cc '''motorbike''' sold as 50cc moped. For tm to constantly do nothing after reports have beeen made is nothing more than reckless endangerment to tm members life's. Related words > Counterfeit/fake/fraudulent/misleading/dishonest open market clear & present fraud permitted on tm for ALL to see!

Kia ora Greg, thanks for raising this. The best way to bring this to our attention is to report the listings via Community Watch so the right team can get eyes over them and take the appropriate action.

The 'so called right team' as you say has had 'current' & past in depth reports made in regards to this serious matter. yet continues to not follow it's own policies, & show blatant disregard regarding blatant in your face ongoing day to day ,year after year fraud/ counterfeit/ illegal unsafe un-roadworthy motorbike fraudulently reg a 50cc moped, when clearly are Not mopeds as over 50cc. Disinformation, misinformation ,dishonestly & misleading tm members, puting lives at risk means nothing to them, as evident in 'no actions taken' . That's why iv'e had to come here, due to total lack action for years. Tm has been allowing blatant fraud for years in regards to ''motorbikes' 'illegally registered a mopeds.

Just press latest listings for Honda cub & or c50 to see the ongoing endless/weekly/yearly illegal frauds described as mopeds, fitted with & Blatantly fraudulently admitted/written ''125cc engines fitted'' = ''classed as motorbike''. Mopeds with more than twice the power & twice the speed of a legitimate factory 49cc/50cc actual legit moped = they present a 'very'clear & very present serious danger' to any tm member who buys one on TM & or other road users. Most have not even improved old drum brakes, say nothing about current brake condition? to allow for extra speed, even take indicators off , fit loud as 'illegal exhausts'. They only care about money/themselves, Not the safety of new owners, Making them go much faster than the were intended/designed for with no wof's . When asked questions in regards to warrants of fitness, many/most say does not require a warrant of fitness check = Blatant lies. Being that they have modified & fitted a much faster higher cc engine, much more than permitted .125cc means it's now 'classed as a motorbike under nz transport law'. In turn requires warrant of fitness safety checks & a motorbike liecence to ride a 125cc bike like most law abiding others, for good reasons. I could come back with listing numbers of the many ''never ending'' blatant frauds currently on sale/listed on tm.

Thanks, I've sent through a report on those ones so will see what happens. Have you considered reporting these elsewhere if Trade Me aren't actioning them for you?
Who would be responsible for ensuring motorcycles are not illegally registered as mopeds? Police? If so you could try doing a 105 phone call or online report.
NOTE: You could probably be a bit more polite on your questions on some of those. It looks like some sellers weren't aware that by changing the engine size they have become motorcycles and are no longer MOPEDS. Calling them "frauds" straight away can come across a bit aggressive perhaps?.

Kia ora Greg, I've raised this with the appropriate team here, they are looking into it. You could also try contacting the NZTA about incorrect registration.

Thank you for your efforts Michelle & Callum', & thank you to The appropriate team that 'have withdrawn' some of the 'misleading' & fraudulent Listings. 'Appropriate Actions' have taken place & the right thing to do has been done. Regarding advice given from callum, Yes', i will endeavor to be not quite so harsh.Bound to be many more of the very questionable & misleading listings ahead, At least by highlighting these listings & some action being done, might send a message to others thinking of putting tm member lives at risk & telling blatant lies.
