Over inflated shipping costs
Have brought 2 sweet shirts and 2 tee shirts through making an offer. Then have the seller come back with a $30 shipping cost. I asked if I can arrange shipping (trade me quote is $11.30) but seller out right refuses!
I always offer the best shipping for my buyers. Are we forced to pay hefty shipping?

Hi Steve. This is why you should always confirm the shipping cost BEFORE you purchase or bid on something if it's not stated. A lesson many learn the hard way. However, a seller is not supposed to inflate shipping costs for profit. This is spelled out in the code of conduct on Trade Me. I will attach picture below. I would keep up the communication with the seller and remind them of that. If they are insistent of a $30 charge, and you can prove that's well above the actual cost (taking into account things like packaging costs) then you could be entitled to cancel the trade if you want. Does the seller have other feedback saying their shipping is excessive?

Hi Steve. My post has gone into "pending" status. While we wait for it to clear, this is what it says.
