Advice wanted: Emails to seller bounce back, payment instructions lead to error page

Hello Peter. The error page just means the seller hasn't set up payment instructions on Trade Me. Not that unusual, just more annoying that Trade Me's error messages are very unhelpful.

Likewise emails can be changed and sellers forget to update things.

Still, it is indeed good to be cautious. I would get further assurances from the seller before proceeding.

A slightly naughty little trick in these situations is to tell the seller you have a friend who lives locally and you will get them to collect it. Ask for their address and phone number. Once you have that and it checks out go back and say you will go for shipping instead.

Or even better if you do actually have someone living close who can pay cash on collection.

Sorry to read of your experience with that Seller,

I would contact TradeMe staff through "Live Chat" for assistance in checking if your Seller is Legitimate - usually if there are no payment instructions set up to be automatically sent to the Buyer you would not receive this Link to select in the first place. - It pays to be cautious!

If you select the Contact us Link at the very bottom of any TradeMe page the Chat Tab will Pop up in blue at the bottom right of your landing page screen.

Enter in the Chat bot which comes up once the Chat icon is selected - person - and you will be taken to entering your details before arriving at the window to Chat with a Real Person/Staff - Have your Listing numbers & the Members trading name ready to type into the Chat window.
