Message from Trade Me that a member has 'reserved' my listing? It's a scam

Hello Kane. What did the message from Trade Me say?

Hey Callum, the message said

Your auction has been reserved by the buyer (nikon39).

To confirm the reservation of the item and receive payment, please visit the reservation page.

I copied the lind but says site cannot be reached is this a scam?

That's a scam Kane. No such member as nikon39, or they have been disabled, plus there is no such reservation system on Trademe. Forward the email to abuse@trademe.co.nz so the scam team can have a look at it and be aware.

Sorry to read of your experience there,

As you copied the Link and followed through to a site which can't be reached it will pay you to run a thorough anti virus/malware check through your device. - You will also want to filter the email to your spam/junk folder, once you've forwarded to TradeMe, so your email service provider picks it up and blocks it from their site as well.

Be prepared for any further phishing emails coming through & don't click on any Links until you can confirm the sender is Legitimate.
