How to edit a listing
- Go to My Trade Me.
- Select Items I’m selling from the left menu.

To check how your listing looks to buyers, log out of your account and search for the listing number in the Trade Me search bar.
Edit contact information
To edit contact information or payment instructions, update your account details.
Change the Buy Now, start price or reserve

If you lower the Buy Now, we’ll notify members with your item on their Watchlist.

Your listing can include up to 20 photos. You can change the order, delete or add photos after your listing is live. Follow the steps above to edit your listing.
What's not editable for a general item listing
What listing details you can edit for a general item depends on:
- what pricing option you chose
- whether a buyer has met your reserve
- whether a buyer has purchased an item
- what category your listing is in.
Pricing options
- If your original listing has a reserve or start price, you can’t change it to a Buy Now only or multiple quantity listing.
- If your original listing is a Buy Now only or multiple quantity listing, you can’t add a start price or reserve.
Start and reserve price after a reserve is met
After a buyer meets your reserve, you can’t edit some listing details, like the reserve or start price. If this is the case, you can:
- add a seller comment with extra information.
- remove bids to bring the bidding below the reserve.
If you’ve discovered new damage, or a mistake in your listing, it’s best to withdraw your listing, then relist or create a new listing with the correct information.
Price and quantity after a purchase
After a buyer purchases from a Buy Now only or multiple quantity listing, you can’t edit the price or quantity.
What's not editable for a car listing
To keep car listings fair for everyone, many vehicle details become uneditable after your listing is live for seven days or a buyer places a bid.
Make, model, body, or year
After your listing is live for seven days, you can’t edit the car’s make, model, body, even if you relist. If you need to make a change to one of these fields, withdraw your listing and create a new one with the correct information.
Details after a buyer places a bid
After a buyer places a bid, you can’t change most of the car’s details. This prevents information that may have affected the members' decision to bid from being changed. You can still upload or delete photos and change the reserve and buy now prices. If you notice a mistake in your listing after a buyer places a bid, it’s best to withdraw your listing, then relist or create a new listing with the correct information.
Start price, reserve price, or Buy Now price after a reserve is met
After a buyer meets your reserve, you can’t edit the reserve price, start price, or Buy Now price. You are still able to upload or delete photos. If you need to update a price, withdraw your listing, then relist or create a new listing with the correct information.
