What’s new on Marketplace: March 2026
Find out what's new on Marketplace in March 2026.
We’re making big changes to Trade Me Marketplace this month. Find out what’s new.
We’ve said goodbye to Success Fees
We’re removing Success Fees for casual sellers on Marketplace. This means when your item sells, you keep 100% of the sale price. Other fees may apply.
Any listings (new or relists) made on or after 10 March will no longer attract a Success Fee.
Swift and secure payments with Ping by Trade Me
Starting from 10 March, all Marketplace listings will include Ping as our primary payment method with Afterpay and cash offered as well.
Ping provides guaranteed, swift and secure payment for sellers and Buyer Protection. A 2.19% seller transaction fee applies.
More Buyer Protection cover
We increased Buyer Protection cover for all Ping and Afterpay transactions from $2,500 to $5,000.
If a trade doesn’t go to plan, we’ve got your back.
A Service Fee
We added a Service Fee for Buyers on casual purchases over $20. This Service Fee helps keep our platform operating and allows us to provide a safe, supported platform for Kiwi to trade.
You’ll only see this fee when you’re buying from a casual seller, and it will be clearly shown before you commit to a purchase.
Shipping's a breeze with Book a Courier
Got something to send? Book, track and pack with our door-to-door courier service.
We’ve teamed up with Aramex and NZ Post too, so you’ll get instant estimates and great mates' rates across Aotearoa.
