I’m surprised there is not some automatic way for Trademe to identify people posting phone numbers in Q&A. Surely can’t be that difficult, look for a series of numbers, numbers spelt as words, or numbers either side of ‘dot’ . I get it all the time on my listings, people commenting, “can you contact me on zero two one etc etc “
Callum - I’m using desktop Safari. Cleared all browser history, and still no luck. I guess whatever release trademe did recently , they forgot Safari was a thing
Callum - yes, understand. But the risk of having to have a ping option is that it remains an available option, (even after discounting a product to reflect a cash price). Or are you saying ping can be removed as an option completely?
And now ‘in trade’ sellers have the pleasure of being forced to offer ping (and pay the associated fee to accept ping payments), under the premise that this makes it safer for businesses. Yet casual sellers can continue to choose whether to offer ping. I do offer ping, but sometimes accomodate requests to discount a product , provided payment is made with cash. I won’t have this option as a in trade seller with Trademe choosing to enforce ping for all listings by in trade sellers.
Heloise, it’s another one of the common bugs on the site, add it to the arm long list of site issues, and has been like it for years. Agree, it’s not a great look when people attempting to leave positive feedback end up leaving ‘??’. A shame there are so many issues with the site with seemingly no interest in fixing them
I see both sides. Although I fail to see why it's so difficult for the seller to refund you. If it was me, I would just refund. As a seller, if you charge extra for rural delivery, you should make it clear on your listing what courier company you use, so that buyers are aware whether a rural charge applies based on the courier being used. It also doesn't help that some couriers consider some addresses rural, while others dont. For such a small country, it shouldn't be that difficult for all courier companies to agree on common rural/urban boundaries. I also disagree that its easy for a sel...
Booking it directly from the sold listing, and the tracking number automatically populates in my sold items list against the sale, but I know for certain that my customers don’t receive email notification with the tracking info.
Have never received that, and prior to emailing tracking info myself, multiple buyers would reach out to me to ask for the tracking info. I can definitely see the tracking info on the won items page for items I buy, but never receive email notification. I suspect the same is the case for my customers
I can also confirm that having bought and sold items, Trademe never notify or email the buyer the tracking information, even if the tracking number is not added manually and added through book a courier. I found this out when multiple customers emailed asking for tracking information after receiving no notification from Trademe, hence I now email the tracking information separately to each customer.
Good spotting Gary, I would not be the least bit surprised if they have missed this completely. Seems many things with the site have fallen into disrepair, including forgetting to advise many members of the removal of gold trade rebates, oops
