when you use the 'courier shipping calculator' it gives you shipping costs for all areas (nth and sth) and rural etc. It lets you add this to the listing. Then when it sells, it uses the exact same info and provide a different price. Doesnt even seem o be a rural or non rural thing as the address wasn't rural when using the aramex and nz post online address checker. This does seem to be a common issue as there are several other threads about it by the looks of it.
The price offered when listing the item is the price for freight offered to the buyer. This is the price they expect to pay as you have offered this to them. Once the price has been accepted by the buyer, you cant change it. In this example, the buyer bought the item, clicked on the freight price offered ($11) and then paid immediately by Ping for the whole transaction. I dont believe there is a way to add an additional $7 to get the buyer to pay by Ping on its own??. And the buyer has already accepted what was offered anyway. I see there have been other posts regarding this but the problem seems to be getting worse. In good faith I set the price for the courier using the trademe courier calculator. The price the buyer selects is always less that the price that now gets offered by trademe/courier at close of auction when you go to book the courier. Todays example went from $11 to $18!! a 60% increase from the original $11 quoted one week earlier. Trademe/courier should honour the original quote. or if other things (such as rural fee) change th eprice, the calculator should offer this to the buyer when bidding...
