Btw @Michelle what happened with my idea for a GarageSale / Box lots category? I have over 30 boxes full of stuff from a house clearance with nowhere to list them on Trademe (and my wife wants them GONE), so as much as I hate FBM that seems to be the only choice …
Which brings me to another question, or suggestion: with all those listings and relists it gets confusing how many you’ve done, so wouldn’t a promotional counter be an idea? Might even remind and inspire people to list more …
I didn’t receive an email, I discovered the promotion via checking Trademe’s entry page - another problem for quite a few users and subject of another thread.
PS: I proof-read lots of publications, and am pretty good at spotting alternative interpretations. Most of the time people don’t say what they think they say, and that can lead to real problems.
@S: Thanks, but that contradicts what Michelle wrote: “So your first 400 listings started during the promotional period are covered if they sell, but any others, including relists, aren't.” - that specifically limits it to listings STARTED and excludes relists.
@Michelle: Thanks, but once more no mention of the listing fee. I have a whole household to clear, but I assume if you have more than 50 listings at once then the listing fee applies.
I hate that Trademe is so vague all the time. Is that 400 listings in total during the promotion period? Is that 400 listings at once (eg 400 this week, 400 next week, etc)? Do relists during the promotional period count towards the limit of 400 (eg listing is ONE, relist is TWO, relist is THREE, …)? Presumably Listings 51-400 still have a listing fee attached? Thanks for the promotion but PLEASE be a bit more precise!
The problem is that TM quotes are just estimates, the actual postage can be more. Sometimes couriers raise prices - I once had to pay over $10 more than TM estimated because of that.
What Callum and S say is not quite correct. You CAN still open your old listing (I just opened an old listing from June 8th to test) and click on "Sell Similar" or copy the text and start a new one - just look for the "your auction closed" message from Trademe and click on the link in there.
… and just got "Sorry to hear the trouble with the trade hasn’t been sorted. A Disputes Officer in our team will be reviewing this under our Buyer Protection policy and will be in touch within the next four weeks." That's just embarrassing.
