Hi Thiliak. I don't ever remember the success fee being 2.9% but just looked back on emails and in 2005 I was being charged 5.5% for general items eg screenshot below, and it was the same % in 2004 when I started. 2007 it went up to 6.9% and stayed there for 3 years before moving to 7.9%.
Jenn, different categories have different fees. Check the fees help page for all the details. Of course if the sale amount you mention does not include shipping, then a different shipping amount for each will affect the fee total too
Chey, you could try selling on TM in bulk to get rid of stock, or take to one of the real life auction houses. I buy things on TM in bulk when someone has lost the urge and just wants to move on, likewise, I buy at auction hoses and sell on here and even a few things I buy in bulk on TM with the express purpose of selling on in bulk at auction houses. Most of the auction houses do both new and used items. Some of my best bulk buys over the years and recently, have been on TM.
Mollie, the best thing to do in this case is to double check your bank account details that you have entered here on Trademe in your Manage Ping page, and if that is correct and you don't have the 1c deposit in your bank acc and it's been 5 days or more, contact Trademe and ask them to have a look and see what's gone wrong.

Lynda, it probably means it has a bid above reserve, ie it's going to sell. I can look at my listings that have met reserve and can see the original start pricing including the Buy Now, but buyers can't of course. Once any auction has reached reserve the Buy Now option is no longer available.
Ah, I didn't realise it had been sold and you wanted to buy from the winner back then. Same thing applies really. Go to the buyers trademe page, see if they have any listings to ask a q on, add to favs if they don't, so you'll be notified if they do list anything. Other than that, there's snooping through their feedbacks for clues, facebook, insta, white pages, linkedin, and other socials sites to try and make contact. Easiest way to go to the buyers trademe page is via the recently updated profiles page where you can pop their trademe name in the search box. https://www.trademe.co.nz/Commu...
Hi Lance. No, it's not a recent change, it's always been the same that the Buy now disappears once bids above reserve have been placed. It's been like that since I started selling here in 2004. The only time the Buy Now stays when bidding is going on is if the seller has paid to have a hidden reserve, in which case the buy now doesn't disappear until bids have been placed that meet or exceed the reserve. Again, always been like this. If it's set up as an auction, then a bidder can also place a bid that equals the buy now, rather than using the buy now. Have seen many auctions go way above t...
Hi Dick. 45 days is the limit. If it's something you bought or sold or had on your watchlist with reminders that you've not deleted, you'd need to search in your email
Somebody else came along and saw your bid of $51, then they put in an autobid that conicidentally equalled your autobid. Since you got there first, yours is the bid that stays and they miss out.
