Tony, re your comment.. I am able to access every buyers email address from the emails Trademe send me when something sells, in my email program back to 2004, so I can email them if required. I'm sure I'm not the only one, so I can't see why you say you can not email buyers? or am I misinterpreting what you said?
No Sarah, unfortunately the sellers membership location is not necessarily the location of the items for sale and the location filter for buying is set to use the sellers membership address rather than the product location. We have been asking Trademe for some years to make the buying location filters use the product location rather than the membership location, but no change, as yet. All you can do is set the location when searching to NZ, then add a - "china" to your search string and also look at the shipping time estimates although not all sellers use those. Worse than what you mention ...
I'm picking they have made some changes sitewide, so will see what else pops up. One they have made that is going to impact the number of community watch reports, is that today when you make a CW report, the page refreshes after you have already copy/pasted in the details of the report, wiping them from the details box, meaning you have to click in to the details box again and start over, if you notice in time and if you still have what you pasted in there initially. Looks like a day off to do something else.
Bonnie, Trademe have changed things without any notification. There is now a profile edit button on your Community page so you can have an Alias just for here. Click your name in any post or comment to go to your Community page, then you'll see the Edit button. Rather remiss of Trademe to make this change in the way they have, but there you go.
There is no fix Justin. It is not possible to use after pay on more than 1 listing at a time, so they must be paid individually. You could ask the seller to create a new listing for you with everything together in one, but this can get messy for the seller and lead to withdrawl fees etc, so is not a good option. After pay on the shopping cart has been a request since after pay started on here.
Yes, if it goes through the NZ Post Wellington sorting center their automatic scanners will definitely pickup items oversize by even a cm. I have had a few flagged with under ticket charges (expensive) in Wellington so I have now changed packaging specifically for Wellington orders for that one item so the package is now 1cm less than it was on one measurement.
No idea what a $22 freight sticker is, but maybe ask the buyer. Anyway, if the buyer is making life difficult and won't pay the freight estimates you have gone to the trouble of getting, might be best just to apply for your success fee and tell the buyer this is what it is. For larger items I often check the rate to send with several couriers as they vary widely, as do their volumetric rates. Sometimes you can pack slightly differently and make a significant difference to the price, or change couriers to get a much better price. Also, like you say, do not send without correct freight paid o...
Joe, if you haven't paid, all you need to do to cancel a purchase as you have changed your mind, just email the seller and explain why. If the goods were being dropshipped ie the seller is NZ based according to their profile location, but the goods are coming from outside NZ, then to be a Trademe approved dropshipper they MUST state in the auction description what country the goods are coming from. If the country was not stated, you are well within your rights not to complete the trade as the seller is breaking Trademe's dropshipping T & Cs, and Trademe should be notified by using the Commu...
M, if it's really bothering you, you could try using My Products as then things relist automatically, so you'll never get an email asking you to relist ever again. You can also have FPOs set up or not.
Mark, Aramex also have agents and your nearest is Papakura Paper power 223 Great South Road. You may want to give them a call and see if it's ok to drop off to them.
