This is from 2009, some of you may still have a copy of this email that did the rounds at the time relating to Instant Payment Options available and which ones' not to use.......Now it seems the worm has turned? New Trade Me email scam doing the rounds Thu, 10th Dec 2009 FYI, this story is more than a year old By Staff Writer Online auction site Trade Me is warning users that a scam email is being sent to recent bidders. The scam is designed to solicit money from Trade Me users under the pretence of a 'fixed price offer' on an item that the user has recently bid on or ...
Plus 12 months to that and it still isn't fixed. The algorithm also shows our own Items as been Items we might be interested in too which has to be a joke and a half - April Fools day must be year round.
Where in the Editing part do we find that there are people who have viewed our Listings and how can we find who the Watchlisters are so we can complete Trade or at least do Fixed Price Offers? These Options have always been a part of the Terms and Conditions of Trade Me and providing a reputable service and have not been able to be accessed for far too long for us Casual Sellers
It's inexcusable that this has ever happened and who is responsible for this screw up? If other websites can do a wind / roll back to the date these changes happened that have had an adverse impact on so many, then why can't Trade Me? Incidentally, there was a scam involving Fixed Price Offers for Trade Me back in 2009 - see New Trade Me Scam doing the rounds on Future Five . co. nz Well worthy of a read including for those who object to the coercion to use PING and changes to payment Options...as they too are mentioned. The above link comes up as a 403 We have had this problem for over 15 months, can't see any views and are unable to do any Fixed Offers post auction close time to any Watchlisters. Customer Service went no where and merely told us to Relist the item. We note that with the changes to Email messages they no longer seem to incorporate the Fixed Offer option so this may likely be the Timeline in the system where the issue arose. They generally only include the Relist item email. This needs to be fixed as it's also likely to be why Trade Me sales have plummeted.
This issue is a pain in the butt and needs fixing. We have encountered it too. It's like the size of the print on the label of a jar of Marmite and some of the street direction signs - someone has written it without any logic to how it really looks. Oh for the Good Ole days where Editing and typesetting was sensible.
Eva This is a great question you have asked. Did you manage to get your money back from Trade me? It's really important this is displayed in a place of it's own for all users because one may reasonably assume there's a tidy sum on the public's monies sitting in Trade me Bank account. Alas interest isn't great these days.
This problem is still happening. Who are on Trade Me IT team? These should be basic training how to fix engineering matters. Wondering if all this Tech / AI problems all link back to contracts started with Chorus and Deregulation of Telecommunications because they all reek of a failure of Contracted services in compliance with NZ laws.
