op18 Yes, it's legal. It's their website after-all. They get to set how people pay for things. Just like any other shop or business can. There was some thought it might breach anti-competitive law but Commerce Commission have taken a look and not acted. At least not yet. So you can probably assume that it is all OK. Posts sometime go into pending if there are keywords that trigger it. I usually have 3 or 4 floating around pending. littlemissy1 I am not associated with Trade Me. I am a member just like you.
I would think the number of people who don't have a debit or credit card these days would be pretty miniscule AJ. But if they do exist then I guess they can't buy the item unless they arrange another method of payment directly with the seller.
Hello Heath. This has been discussed many times on here. Your item doesn't have zero views. It is a confirmed bug that Trade Me say they will hopefully fix early next year. If you type "zero" into the search bar you will find many other posts discussing it.
In some ways I feel for the seller here Amy. Obviously it will depend on what exactly has been said by whom. But it sounds like they have communicated with you and given instructions - and even provided a video? - of how to fix the problem. They also had an offer of a full refund on the table. You decided not to take that. Perhaps consider flipping it around and you being the seller. If you sold an item that turned out to have an error in the description. Would you be happy to get a negative feedback even if you tried everything in your power to sort it out with the buyer? If nothing else ...
Hi Kathryn. Not sure what you mean by "messages to suggest you stalk coworkers"? I don't usually use the App notifications, but on a quick check now all mine are related to buying, selling, and new listings from favourite sellers I have saved. Using iOS app version 191.0 I don't have push notifications turned on, because my phone would be pinging hundreds of times a day if I did. But I would assume the push notifications would be the same as those showing within the app itself.
HI Greg. Without mentioning the sellers name can you tell me an easy way to find these? I had a quick look and couldn't see any. I am happy to send through a report on a couple to add some omph to your complaint.
From what I can see QCard is being phased out. They aren't accepting any new customers, and haven't issued any new cards since 2016. Probably more and more retailers will stop supporting it as time passes and the people who use it drop off. Cathy. If you are determined to stay with Q is there any reason you don't want to upgrade to Q mastercard? From what I can see there is only benefits from doing so.
If you think the Service Fee will put buyers off you can offer to refund it on your auctions markuswinter. Apparently this is something private sellers are already doing. You will still come out better off than with the old system of a 7.99% fee, even if you pay the Service Fee and the Ping fee. With regard to the number of views, I never pay much attention to those. It's the SALES that you need to be looking at ;)
Hello Harlem. You would have to ask Trade Me yourself. I am just a member like you. However I will say they always differentiate in various ways between casual and in-trade. There are things that casual sellers can do that in-trade can't (Make an offer for example) Likewise in-trade sellers have legal obligations around returns and refunds. In-trade sellers also have a tiered fee structure. For some items it can be cheaper than casual sellers, for some it can be more.
Hello Bridget. My guess is that by using a VPN anyone in the world can then easily log into Trade Me. This is probably what they are trying to avoid? Scammers / Fake accounts etc would likely increase a lot and cause problems on the website if VPN restrictions were relaxed.
