The thing with that argument osiris2 is that the hacked accounts were private / casual accounts. They are not restricting those accounts, only in-trade sellers. So it wouldn't have stopped those from happening and won't in the future either.
Hello Steve. If you didn't get an acknowledgment of your complaint to the Commerce Commission you might not have done it correctly. They are obligated to acknowledge complaints. I'm not sure about general emails. But if you made your complaint via the online form they provide you should have got an instant acknowledgement with a reference number.
For those interested. Here is how it played out in Australia when eBay tried to mandate paypal and remove bank deposits in 2008 eBay issued a notice that paypal will be mandated, bank deposit option removed. This led to significant complaints both directly to eBay, and to the ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission) This is equivalent to our Commerce Commission. The ACCC agreed to investigate. They asked eBay to delay the introduction so they could call for submissions and then complete a final report on the issue. There were over 1000 submissions sent to the ACCC. These are a...
Hi Sharon. I've answered your question a few posts up. Have a read and let me know if you require further clarification. If it's a buynow, then basically no, you can't buy and delay payment. The payment via Ping has to be at the point of purchase or the sale doesn't proceed. It's like buying almost anything else online. You can't buy it and then pay later via some other method. Bidding is a different matter. I also don't know how TM are going to work around the "cash" loophole.
Sorry Matt. Perhaps I didn't explain fully. With a buynow only MQL (multi quantity listing) item and Ping as the only method of payment the buyer must pay with Ping at point of sale. Otherwise they simply can't buy it. A buyer has to select the method of payment when they purchase something. If Ping is the only option, as Trade Me are mandating, the sale can't proceed until is paid for. There is a possibility that "cash" could be selected if a seller has ticked that box and the sale can proceed that way. Here is a random example for you. You can't buy this item unless you pay for it with ...
Sellers are protected if they make a genuine mistake. Like listing something for $50 instead of $500. You would have to decide for yourself if it's a genuine mistake. Is it an item others are selling? Is $180 a "too good to be true" price? If you think that they just wanted more, rather than making a genuine error, then yes you would be justified in leaving negative feedback and reporting the seller for refusing to complete the transaction.
Hello Selwyn. If you see shill bidding, or suspected shill bidding, please report it through to Trade Me directly. If they don't know about it, they can't act! At the bottom of the auction page hit the Community Watch link. You can then report it using the drop down menu for that specific issue.
Ah good old Trade Me. Experimenting with new stuff when the place is already full of current and historical problems that need fixing. Nothing unusual about that I guess ;)
Hi ross. As Teresa says your address could indeed be Rural with one or more different couriers. You can use this link to check it. https://www.addresscheck.co.nz/
Here is the kiwibank version of what they are seeing. As I mentioned, it's not a restriction. It's just the bank covering their bottom by saying they don't check account numbers against names. They never have. Which surprises some people.
