Hi Leone. Yes it is because they are flammable. The reason Chemist Warehouse can send them is because they have a special account with the courier. Then they are packaged, insured, and documented as Dangerous Goods. Have a look at the packaging next time you make an order from a place like this. It will have a DG sticker on it (Diamond shape black and white) and they have to be packaged in a particular way. From there they are handled differently and go into special cages during bulk transport. The same thing applies to any aerosols you buy.
The sender is liable. Of course. If you don't get the item that you paid for how could you possibly have any obligations there? This is even enshrined in law if you are buying from an "in-trade" seller. A private seller could I guess TRY and contract out of their obligations by saying "Sending at buyers risk" or similar, but I'm dubious if even that would hold up if it was tested legally.
There is a dedicated link when closing your account. Use this link and look for the "Get in touch" button near the bottom https://help.trademe.co.nz/hc/en-us/articles/360007000092-Closing-your-account Don't forget to do it from the account you want to close, not the one you want to keep.
It's not that there is a benefit or not. It's what you legally have to do if you are "in-trade." You can't opt in or out just because you feel like it. You either are or you aren't. Very basically if you are selling something with an intention to make a profit, you are in-trade and that should be stated. As far as benefits, there are a few differences. A couple I can think of. You get access to the gold seller rebate for free shipping items. Buyers perhaps have more confidence buying from you because they are covered by both the Consumer Guarantees Act, and the TM buyer protection program ...
All of the major couriers have a $2000 limit. This is because that is the amount stated in the Carriage of Goods Act. So they are tied to that somewhat. However business customers can sometimes get access to higher cover rates on application Another thing you could look at is your own contents insurance. There might be something they can do, or you might even be already covered. Otherwise take the $200 deal or go and pick it up yourself. (Assuming you are the buyer)
Short answer you can't, as you have found out. Pretty sure even on a relist you are locked into one or the other format. There is a possibility Trade Me can do it if you email them.
Just an update on the URBAN/RURAL issue. I have now had 8 sales using the new template to RD addresses with Trade Me wording that we can't change. 4 of those have selected the correct shipping, 4 haven't. So it's 50% that get it wrong. Or 50% right depending how you view these things. I have mentioned the problem to Trade Me. I made the suggestion that they add the word URBAN in front of nationwide, or come up with some other solution. The kind of non-committal is response below; "I've passed that on to our Tech and Content team as I can definitely see how that could be frustrating. Just so...
Did the first buyer also not want it due to the scratch? Surprising perhaps she didn't learn from that and mention it when it was listed on Trade Me. Not sure why you/she would complain to Trade Me. The buyer noticed something that wasn't disclosed, your daughter made a lower offer and the buyer accepted it. Deal done. The only other option would have been to cancel the trade completely and then relist it mentioning the scratch.
Couldn't agree more terramist. I get that it's not a critical thing, more of a "nice to have" so it's potentially down the list of things to fix. Still, if they aren't going to fix it anytime soon then they need to remove the link or have it lead to an error page explaining it's not currently working.......
Hello saprema. This is an ongoing issue (for over a year) for some items in some categories. What category are you listing in? You can test another category to confirm it is an issue with the current category you are trying to list in. If the category that you are trying to list in is affected your only way to list MQLs is to use My Products or another listing tool. Until they fix it that is, and who knows when that will be........
