I mean buyers were asking for my details to contact me outside of the platform but I was concerned it would appear that I was looking to dodge selling fees. I do find it very odd that trade me isn't protecting themselves against this sort of behaviour as that undermines their entire business.

Oh wow I would have thought they would have technology to scan for that & shut it down Super unfair!!

  • Tania created a post,

I keep getting asked for my phone number on my listing for a general item.  I tried to search the policy around this and came up with answer that if there is a field for a phone number, you can enter it (i.e. cars). Anyway browsing around general items, I see a lot of phone numbers, email addresses & websites in the descriptions.  These are both private sellers and in trade sellers. Is it ok to include an email/website/phone number in the description?  Will the account be shut down? Am I supposed to report the listing?  Will it actually get taken down?  Will the seller know it is me that re...

UPDATE: It looks like TM has updated this!  I was able to sell more than qty 1 to more than 1 x customer on FPO :)

Argh drats.... yes def a wasted opportunity for sellers there!!  Oh well at least I know not to sit & wait for a week lol   Thanks Gary!

  • Tania created a post,

So when a listing ends and we send a fixed price offer, the offer is withdrawn as soon as someone accepts it. BUT when you have more than one of the same item (i.e. the listing closes with quantity 5) does the same rule apply?  OR can the buyer enter a quantity on a fixed price offer? Can more than one person purchase on your offer? Or is it just same same - meaning the offer is withdrawn as soon as someone buys regardless of quantity?? On my side it says fixed price offered & I still have the option to withdraw the offer - even when someone has purchased. Thank you all for your little nugg...

@Arthur I 100% agree & always stick to the price, even if the quote was wrong & I am out of pocket.  After mucking around with several emails back & forth I reminded her again she agreed when she bidded so either pay it or cancel it.  She paid - albeit short a cent lol some folks just like a win no matter what!  Lesson learnt.

I have 3 buyers who have overpaid, only by a dollar or two each.  What's the procedure here?  Am I supposed to put change in the package? Or contact each one to refund electronically? It might be because they're seasoned online shoppers & think my courier fee estimate is too low? Or that the product is worth more than I charged?  I have accidentally undercharged some (which is totally my problem, due to packaging size & shape) so do I just accept the extra & move on or is there a policy which says I should contact each person & go from there. None of them have emailed me to say why they pai...

@Gary, I did email her asking for her address before I posted here.  Now she has come back with an address in Southland (I'm north island), that the system won't pick up so I will have to go instore.  On the mail post code finder it only says they get mail delievered to that address 3 times a week.  She has also stated that she wants it there before Christmas. It just seems like unrealistic expectations to me, expecting to pay as little as possible & to receive it as fast as possible particularly at this time of year, in a neighbourhood with sporadic delivery?! I'm so worried about negative...

@Yvonne, I must disagree.  I've found the booking system incredibly accurate.  The only difference I can see is the level of service, you get an upgraded service compared to what you would get instore.  BTW in this scenario I'm talking courier not snail mail.
