Seller removing $1 no reserve bid
Answeredjust checking to see if this sounds fair i bid on a auction with a $1 no reserve seller had a buy now on it for $30 so i placed a bid so it met reserve at $1 auction was due to come of tomorrow at lunch time 01/02/24 i received a email today 31/01/24 informing me seller had removed my bid i never asked for my bid to be removed so i went on my lost auction page thinking they must have removed the auction only to find it showing as being sold to another member for $30 this was showing as being sold within a couple of minutes of them removing my winning bid of $1 the reserve they set sounds doggy to me like they were not happy to sell it for any cheaper then $30 i dont think this is fair and to me breaking the rules of selling also the trader that is showing it being sold to is a new member to trademe something going on here would never trust this seller

Yes, not fair, plus breaking the rules. All you can do is to contact Trademe to let them know and they may email the seller to warn them not to do it again.

Yes this is completely unfair, you are probably dealing with a novice seller who doesnt know the rules (well at least I hope so, if it was an "in-trade" they should know better).
You should contact Trade Me, through the live chat system, that is manned during business hours, if you give them the Auction number, title, and sellers profile name, they should be able to go back and see what happened.

Kia Ora joanne,
Sorry to read you missed out on that auction,
Offers are becoming more common place since they were introduced through the App - However an offer can't be put forth through the App if the Reserve has been met - If you view the Q&A section of the closed Listing you will see if any Offers were asked & answered - Sellers are allowed to remove bids for various reasons - including errors within the Listing itself which may mislead Buyers etc. - If there is no Q&A in the Listing then Yes! a new Member with 0 Feedback winning this auction at the Buy Now price would indeed look very suspect in this situation which is worth reporting to TM for a full investigation.
All the Best with finding a replacement item - Cheers.
