Remove Ping as payment option once auction has started

Unfortunately once a bid has been made, no you can't edit the auction to remove the Ping option. Rather than withdraw, you could remove the bid, then edit to remove the Ping option. If you do this, it would pay to add a note to the bidder as they may be a bit miffed and not bid again without seeing an explanation.

Kia Ora Stacey,
If the Reserve has not been met you are able to change Payment details - If the Reserve has been met the Bidder may be grateful of the bid removal if they had planned to pay using Ping - A Seller Comment to the Bidder, as Gary suggested is the Best option in this situation.
Ping, NZ Bank account & Cash Payments are now auto ticked by default when creating a Listing therefore it's most important to scroll down the Price & Payment page to deselect the options you don't want. - Cheers.

Thanks I may have to do that
I have my item priced lower than its value as it is, so it annoys me Ping is automatically added by TradeMe .1 -
Thanks for response TradeMe however having that automatically added is a nuisance and obviously will catch many sellers out. Choosing a payment option should be of the sellers decision. It is easily missed as in my case, I ticked bank deposit and cash payment ..not aware I had to de-click anything...come on Trade Me ,you make alot of money off fees from long time users of this site..to add this further fee generating system is one of many reasons why youd be noticing more people looking at other online ways to sell their items . If it is all about the buyer and TradeMe why would I bother offering anything at a fairer price on here as I have done this listing..Clearly not happy and will have to rethink my listing before close off

Kia Ora Stacey,
This is the Community Forum you are on here, we are members of TM just like yourself - we are not TradeMe staff. This community forum is in place for all members to help each other where we can - it is easy to make the mistake as all our Member Comments are emailed under TradeMe - Customer Support
This is the layout - Ping, NZ Bank account & Cash Payments are all ticked by default However they are all grouped together for Seller's choice of selecting/unselecting the payment options for their Listing - Cheers.

Unimpressed that PING is automatic. I choose not to use it as it cost me. PLEASE remove this and allow users to make the choice for themselves.

Had to go through all my listings and EDIT then untick PING - make sure you do all the steps and CONFIRM. My choices were made in my initial set up of Trademe and Im happy with them. PING is a later addition that they chose to auto tick. Unacceptable for those who get caught in this trap.

Totally agree with earlier comments re Ping - really unimpressed as I got caught as well with ticked option and only realised once my item sold and had the fee deduced plus had to organise the transfer of the money into my bank account otherwise it'd be sitting in this Ping Trademe account. I've got other items on sale at the moment and even though the reserve hasn't been met I cannot amend payment options and therefore cannot remove Ping as a payment option.

I didn't have any bids on my other listings so quickly unticked all the PING boxes and checked my previous settings. Not the best, I guess will need to watch for future listings.

I dont understand why the seller has to pay ping and afterpay fees when there is no benefit to the seller. Surely Trademe can implement a charge to a buyers account if they want to use these facilities.
Other merchants can charge a customer when paying by credit card, paywave etc so why cant trademe?
I've had buyers ask for Afterpay but this is all extra cost to me for their convenience
Ive had people pay by ping and then come and pick the item up. We really do have to watch when listing especially for low cost second hand items
