Possible fraud?
AnsweredJust bought something for a really good price, paid immediately, sent the screenshot of payment to a seller(new seller, 19 trades, 100% feedback) received the following email in response: "received your payment but my bank asks me some details of you to confirm the payment
your full name in the bank
is a personal or a business bank account
your date of birth." Why would they need this info for the payment that’s gone through? They already have my bank account number from the screenshot and my home address for delivery. I have never had anyone asking me for my date of birth. Should I be worried?

Yes I lodged a Police report also, but doubt it'll help, but maybe it will help awareness of what as appears to be a common scam. I've been 24 years with Trademe, and agree we should put our heads together if it comes to a small claims case. I'm in Auckland BTW.

Please read the whole thread. Neither WISE, NZ banks or police could help(at least WISE actually replied in person, unlike automated responses from two NZ banks).
