Community badges update

Kia ora everyone,

Recently we ran our annual Trade Me Community Survey. Thanks so much to all those who took part - the time you took to answer the survey has provided us with some really useful information that will help to make Community even better. We’re excited to share some of these developments with you as they happen.

Something that we want to report back on now is the Community badges. In the survey we asked a few questions about these, and the results showed that many of you weren’t aware of the badges. Of those that were aware, most don’t feel connected to them or have a preference about them.

We’ve taken on this feedback, and have decided to pause the Community badges in their current state. We feel the time spent on the current badges doesn’t reflect the outcome, and would like to explore more ways to acknowledge your contribution and engagement with Community in future. We’d love to hear from you on what sort of Community award system might be more engaging for you, so if you’d like to share your ideas, please feel free to comment below.

We will shortly be removing the badges from your Community user profiles.

The next update we plan to give you linked to the survey findings is around ease of searching and finding the right information on Community. We’re excited to soon be rolling out a new feature that will make finding the relevant info easier - more on that soon!
