Bid removal question
AnsweredIf you have a trademe member with zero (0) rating bidding $10 more than the next highest bidder with a huge rating (more than 3000+) for an expensive item is it logical to "remove the highest bid" as Trademe apparently allows you to do?

Not logical, but within your rights if you don't think they are genuine. Other factors are is it pickup only and are they local according to their profile, are they a new member or just haven't had feedback before, are they authenticated. We all started on zero and most members will have made a purchase as their first one. Feedback is often not placed too, so it's possible the member has bought items from others before but not received feedback. It's really up to you to gauge what you think is right.

Kia Ora Bert,
How long until auction close? - How high is the bidding? - Is it an expensive item? - Is it likely your other bidder(s) may come back in?
It is possible this bidder with 0 feedback has meant to place an Auto-bid but placed the bid in error - It may be worthwhile giving them the benefit of the doubt here - They may get outbid - You don't lose any $ money here yourself, if it doesn't work out your success fee is refunded and you relist the item - if it works out this bidder may just get there first feedback from you - Cheers.

As said, we all start from zero.
TradeMe is good when it comes to refunding a success fee from the sale not going through. I would leave it and let them win.
If they had substantial bad feedback (personal decision for percentage) then I would remove their bid.
